Server making continual beeping noise......

Sounds like one of two errors - either one of the power supplies has died (not sure if the 1800 has redundant power supplies or not) or a drive in the RAID array has failed. Most likely it's the drive. Run the Dell Server Administrator tool to check the health status of the array, sounds like you need to replace a drive. Most RAID systems fail if you lose more than one drive, so I'd replace that drive ASAP.

Turn the computer on, steady red light and beeping.

Have check for the pins connections who makes it to be master or slave? Have check how you plugged yours cables at HDD? Know that , the cables are plugged as following:
After to put in the power cable, the data cable must be put in in the way that the Red line must be in the direction of power cable. Check all this , if your HDD was good before , i believe that it will work.
Thanks , good luck!!

Dell PE1800 psu wont swith off

Sounds like the PSU is overheating. Some PSU's are designed to keep the fan running to cool it down even after system shut down. I would let the fan run after shutdown to see how long it takes to shut itself off. If there are no environmental issues tat are causing overheating you might want to consider replacing the PSU.

Power edge 1800 bought october 2006

Dell uses proprietary psu's. You will need to contact them for replacement psu or find a supplier that makes psu's that can be used as a Dell replacement. Hope this helps.

Dell poweredge start up issue

Hi. If your server is not responding at all when you want to power it up, you need to replace the power supply. If it starts up then shutdown it could be a motherboard problem but the most probable thing is that your power supply needs to be replaced. If you have an other one with about the same power, try it and see what happens. Good luck!

High pitched noise red light blinking

A high pitch noise comes normally from blown capacitors from the motherboard or the power supply. But mostly high pitch noise comes from power supplies.

You could have to open up the power supply to see them.

Verify if it is the case and replace the faulty part.

PE 1800 Power Supply Fan Does Not Turn Off When Shut Down

I would definately check the BIOS settings and check the power settings in there. To get into the system bios, its usually either the DEL or F1 key when the system first boots.
One option you're looking for is the option to awake on power and that being disabled will prevent it from immediately powering on when its plugged in. It's quite odd that the psu still stays on when booting.
Again, check the BIOS...one thing to try is just simple resetting the bios to its default settings and see if that solves it.
When you say you tried all the firmware and drives, did that include bios firmware?
TO be honest with you, power supplies arent too expensive to replace and fairly easy to install. That's going to be your best option should these solutions I posted fail to fix your issue.
One last thing to try, a different outlet or powerbar to see if perhaps its not pc related but power related from your electrical or powerbar. Try bypassing any powerbars or battery backups aswell...

Hi,
there are many types of raid, which type of raid you are talking of, if you are talking of raid which use mirroring of data, in that case if one drive is lost there is no data loss, when you add a new drive for that bad drive, and then the data on the working drive will be mirrored on the new drive added,

After the installation of Windows 2003 Server

Hi,
this happens when you forget to allocate all the space to partition on your drive, now what you can do is
start > run > type in without quotes "compmgmt.msc" > ok > Disk management > see on the right hand side if all the space is allocated to the partitions
if there is free space available you can right click on the free space and create a new partition.
