Ok if it recognize that the DVD drive is there try cleaning the drive .
- Blow drive out with can air.
- Use lens cleaning disk.
Clean the Disk to ensure your not leaving a finger print on it. You never know how sensitive the lens is.
You can also try rebooting the Drive.
- Click Start.
- Click My computer.
- Locate the DVD drive
- Right click on the drive and go to properties.
- Click on Hardware.
- Select your drive.
- Click on Properties.
scroll all the way down. Now you will see where it says Device Usage. You will see where it shows that your drive is enabled. Ok there is a small arrow pointing down. If you click that you will see how to disable your drive.
click on the arrow and disable your DVD drive.
click apply or ok to Apply the setting.
now reboot your Unit.
Now your drive is disabled. Now you will need to repeat the steps again but this time you want to enable the drive. Click Apply and ok .
Reboot your Unit. { Note DO NOT open the DVD tray while yu are booting up. Ok allow the unit to get to desktop. Now insert DVD .
If this fails you may need to replace or service the DVD drive.
