My flat panel tv w5001c
Hi,
your TV is having a power problem. The power supply board is defective that's why the TV won't power up. Its receiving power but it cannot transfer the current to the necessary part of the TV because a capacitor, diode, etc may have been faulty. Until these bad components are replaced, the TV might not come on.
If you know about TV repairers, I would suggest that you open the TV and read the power board/panel with a meter, detect the bad component and replace it. Take note that TV stores a lot of current that can shock, so leave the TV for a while before you open it.
If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you.
I wish you good luck.

This is normal procedure; after that the control processor should load the firmware and the last channel selected will appear. If the tv is stuck on the welcome screen it's because the processor can't load the firmware - either because the processor itself is defective (replace the control board) or somehow the firmware was corrupted. To find which you must connect the tv to a pc using the special firmware adaptor. Unless you have one you must take the tv to a dealer specifically, since unaffiliated repairmen rarely have them.

Is it the same on every channel and while using dvd player or game consoles?
If so, you most likely have a faulty audio card. There are capacitors on these that can burn out. Each capacitor has it's own voltage rating imprinted on them. You can test them with a meter to find the faulty ones.
Picture but no sound
Hello,
First check that any muting control is not activated. This might be
a button on the remote or set itself. If you have a headphone jack, it
may have dirty contacts as plugging in a headphone usually mutes
the speaker.
If the set is mono or only one channel of a stereo set is out, then
check for bad connections to the loudspeaker. Test the loudspeaker by
disconnecting one of the wires (with the power off!) and measuring its
resistance with an ohmmeter (it should be less than 100 ohms - probably
less than 8 ohms). Or momentarily touch a 1.5 volt battery to the speaker
terminals - you should get a click or pop from the speaker.
Next, trace back from the speaker output terminals to the circuit board
and look for bad solder connections or a loose or dirty connector.
If these tests do not reveal anything, you probably need a scope (or
audio signal tracer) and schematic. Or at least the part number off of
the chip. Is the final amp a chip also or just a transistor? Have you
tested the transistor? If there is little or no buzz from the speaker,
that would indicate a problem fairly near the output. If the tuner/if were
bad, I would expect some noise/humm pickup from the low level audio stages.
Get the part number off of the chip. If it is in a socket, check the
contacts for corrosion or looseness.
Hope this helpout.......

Ihave a 50"dell plasma W5001C.
Hi,
More likely it is Power Supply
Board. You need to Open the TV. Make sure it would be
Unplugged. You need to Take all the Precautions. Locate the Power Supply
Board. Remove the Connectors and Pull out the Board. Once you Pull out
the Board, with the Help of Magnifying Glass, locate Cold Solder Joint.
If Everything is OK, then you would Locate Bulged / Leaked / Swelled
Caps. They would have Ammonia kind of Odor. You need to De-Solder them.
You could take the same to Radio Shack / Fry's / Order Online. Once you
get the New Caps, Solder them and it is all set.You also need to Check
Fuses around that.
Getting a Service Manual for this Model could
be tough, but i would be able to ask few vendors, in case problem would
not be resolved. Usually, you could easy repair the Power Supply Board,
if you could catch Few Bad Caps.
Note - I am Assuming that
all the Cords and Connections are Fine.
Let me know,once done.
Hope
i helped you.
Thanks
for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
I have excellent audio but
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what
you have described it seems that you
might have a backlight and/or an inverter board issue with this TV set. It
could also be due to the inverter circuits for the backlights. The
inverter is the power supply source for the backlights. There could
also be a screen driver problem; if it is then you have to change the entire inverter
board. All this is only recommended if you have some kind of expertise for
checking the internal circuitry of the TV as these units have high voltages
running even when the set is switched off. The cost to change the inverter
board including labor would be around $250, if you get this done by a
professional. Please do accept the solution if the issue is
resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. You’ll need to check the. X and Y sustain buffer boards. When
either of these boards goes bad common problems include negative image, no
image, vertical or horizontal stripes on picture, turns on and than turns off,
and many more. You’ll need to open the back off the TV and check for any
swollen/bulged capacitors on these boards and replace whichever has gone bad. If
still the issue is not resolved, then please check the power supply board. All
this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to
solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when
switched off. Please do
accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further
assistance.
Thanks

My sound card has gone
With Dell products the audio circuit is most likely part of the "main board" which usually is the most expensive board in the set.
Dell has a history of boards not being available for sets over one year old.
For the most part they have no schematics or even parts available for these sets as their intent is if they pass the first year (their warranty) it will not be their problem. I have had Dell sets where I knew which board the problem was on but the board was NOT AVAILABLE.
Get me a model number and I will see what I can follow up with you on; If it is a 32 inch set you may find it cheaper to just replace it and get a longer warranty----consider that most shops will charge you something just to look at it and also the current low replacement costs of sets in this size range.
Let me know as much as you can and I will assist you--I am here to help.

Hi.
I assume the inkjets you are referring to, are the printheads.
If you replaced the print heads and printer still does not work, then ensure that you have well connected the wire at the back of printhead. If that is not the problem , it means that the original problem were not the printheads.
If you have no picture, and you are sure that it is not a software, settings and driver problem, and that the cartridges are good, then you may have a faulty control board, a communication problem, or a wiring problem.
Regards.
Note: If you are calling inkjet the printer cartridges (ink tanks), then you may have a clogged print head. That is the most common ocurrence, do troubleshooting to eliminate possible software problems and communication problems first.
Regards.
How to set plasma to 1080p.
You just use the component inputs ( RED-GRN-BLUE jacks and the red & white for the audio) and providing the broadcast is sent in 1080p that's all you do. A set can only produce what it gets. If they are not sending it you can't make your set get it.
Dell 50 inch plasma has sound no picture
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is
working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it
produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by
overheating problems. X, Y sustain, buffer boards controls
picture, fires the gas, and many others functions. When either of these boards goes
bad common problems include negative image, no image, vertical or horizontal
stripes on picture, turns on and than turns off, and many more. You’ll need to
open the back off the TV and check for any swollen/bulged/leaky capacitors on these
boards and replace whichever has gone bad. All this is only recommended if you
have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these
units contain high voltages even when switched off.

Dell s370. sometimes when i turn it off and back
Hi,
It Seems that there is an issue with Power Supply Board. Cold Solder
circuits or Bad Caps Could Cause this. You need to have some TV repair
experience before you could open this as it would have a Lot of Voltage
even after you unplug it. You need to Open the TV and then you need to
Look for Power Supply Board. Once you find that, you need to look for
Cold Solder Points using a Magnifying Glass. If not there, you could
Search for Bad Caps which more likely is Visible. They would be either
Leaked/ Bulged / Swelled. Take them out and then go to the nearest
Radio Shack Shop to Order those. It would cost you around 20 bucks. Bad
Caps usually have Ammonia Odor. You could even order the Caps Online.
Once you Solder them back, it would be all Set.
There could be Few more reasons like Bad Inverter Board, Bad LCD panel which needs to be checked later on.
Note - If there is no Backlight, it could be Bad Inverter.
Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
Trying to hook up hdmi
I am very experienced with Home Theater installation. With more information on the devices you would like to connect, I can provide more specific directions.
Generally speaking, simply plug one end of the HDMI cable into your Blu-Ray player or HD cable box and the other end into an available HDMI port on your set.
Your set may have to be instructed in it 'Setup' to go to an HDMI video input mode.
I hope that helps.
TV is fuzzy and not showing a clear picture
- If your set is connected to a cable TV box via coax cable check the connection on the cable box (both Input and out to TV connections) tighten if necessary.
- If your using a cable splitter to split the cable to multiple TVs check those connections also.
- If this fails to correct the problem you may have a bad cable which your cable provider should replace at no charge to you.
