Hi guys.  This is totally fixable and pretty easy if you have tech skills at all.  I performed this fix even before I found the following thread that will explain it, and it worked flawlessly!  Read it entirely and follow carefully.  this works on many different models of plasma's.

hello, definitely if your fuses are blown and your not able to circut trace and find the fualty compnents on the pb then repalce it with a working power supply this may help but also keep in mind you may want to check everything out first get your models service manual so you can verify voltages at test points. something is cuasing the fuses to blow so if you do change the power board and you blow the fuses again then you will need to trace the circut and find out where the short is and what panel or part is cuasing it .

the power board needs to be inspected. you need a t20 torx bit, and phillips screwdriver. do not work on unit around carpet. stay away from carpet.you need a digital multimeter as well. remove back cover, and set meter to VDC. take black probe, and stick in one of the upper holes. look at the top right of the panel for a white sticker. this gives the proper voltage readings. on the power board, located middle top (big bd) look for the vs, vset, va, vsc settings on pow bd with red probe, test each one for proper voltage if 2 or more mismatches, the power bd needs replaced. do a ebay search for bd id number located on bd or simply type dell 4201 power bd.

you need to get a remote. order one from ebay there about $20 do a factory reset, and use code 3355. this will reset the unit back to original specs. if no go, use the rem to manually adj the color to ur satisfaction.

power board died. It carries the proper voltages to the other boards. Its low and needs to be replaced.

your Y-main bd buffer(s) upper and lower. needs replaced. to do this, u need to remove the back cover with a t20 torx bit + phillips screwdriver. once removed, look to the far left, there are 5 or 6 long snap on connections they run along your Y upper and lower buffers. look at them carefully for burn marks around the sealants. if u notice a orange burnt residue, its prob burnt out and needs to be replaced. this should enable the video once again.

do you own the following tools:
t20 torx screwdriver
plillips screwdriver, pref. cord drill,
digital volt meter

remove back cover of tv. (MAKE SURE TV IS ELEVATED AT LEAST 3FT from ground away from carpet. Please refrain from walking on carpet during diagnostic test. turn dig meter on vdc. THE POWER BD is located on the top middle. It the biggest board on the TV. look very carefully at the board. USE PLENTY OF LIGHT. Back away from the TV for 1 minute. look to the top right, you will see a sticker with leads. Ve, Vscan, etc... located next to each one is the propoer voltage. rturn to the power board. the is a contact next to the specified lead. look for that lead, and take the voltage . repeat process 3 times, from there, get back to me. anything not registering properly, will identify problem with TV.

the logic main board is not communicating with the power board. It may be dead. If so, it needs replaced. sometimes, wires may some loose and cause signal miscommunication. if u r tech savy, i recommend opening the system, then contact me 4 further instructions. t20torx bit, phillips screwdriver.

yes i still repair dell 4201 plasmas. i have repaired over 100 of these units. im familiar with them.
