Dear sirs,
I want to add my daughters lap top on to my network. I forgot my passkey. Is there any way of reseting the WBR1310, or to find my passkey.
You are supposed to set that yourself. Read your manual (they have electronic manuals on the dlink website). type "192.168.0.1" into your web browser and you can configure your router from there. Just click the wizard button and it will guide you through everything.
There should be a reset button on the back of the router that you press with a paper clip for 10 seconds, and that resets everything to factory default settings.

I set-up my wireless network last year and the password I am using is not working to set-up a new connection. I might have the wrong password and would like to either confim what it is or just create a new one. I bought a TiVo and went to connect it but it is saying to check my WEP and that is in not correct.
Please HELP!
Thanks,
Angelo
The devices ip address is "192.168.0.1". type that into a web browser and a login screen will show up. enter your account password (not wep), or if u never did this before just leave it blank.
Then you can go to wireless configuration and change the code. I suggest using WPA2 as you can use a password instead of a really long code.

I lost my installation CD...anyway to download?
Here's the link to the setup file on the d-link site: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/wbr1310_revB/Apps/
I had to special request this link. If you go through all their information on their site, it states you should be able to obtain a copy of their installation CD as a download file. But you can't find it anywhere. So, after I requested it, they gave me this FTP link, directly into their server. I don't know how long this link will last. It worked as of 4-21-10.

I'm trying to connect my router to my laptop. The wizard cd does not work in my latop. I have windows XP media Center
Hi There!!
As is understand you are tyring to setup your wireless router to your laptop. However the cd does not work.
You could try these steps,
There is no problem if you are using XP media center. Please configure your router to the laptop that was last connected to the internet modem. You can also use the ethernet port on the modem directly connected to the WAN port of the wireless router. Then turrn on the Modem and the wireless router. Try to minimize the distance between the wireless router and all the laptops to be in the range of 1-30 meters.
Once you power on the modem, router and laptop, see that all the lights on the router are ON.i.e power, link, wan and lan light the port that is connected to your computer. Please verify your connections if the lights are not ON.
Now connect your laptop to the LAN port of the wireless router and see that your laptop IP address lies in the subnet of 192.168.0.xxx [where xxx is between 2 to 254].This information you can see in your network connections TCP/IP settings. The other best thing that you can do is set your computer IP Address to automatic.
Now open a web browser and type http://192.168.0.1 and press Enter. Once the login page appears enter the username as admin and leave the password as blank click enter.
The click the Advanced button and then Advanced Network. Uncheck the Enable UPnP check box, then click save setting. Now reboot your computer and router.

sir, lost the installation cd for d link dir 300 wireless g router. please help me to a site from where i can download the same. thanks
Most routers don't require discs and the disc usually contains mere documentation for configuration and help. Routers are usually plug-and-play type devices but if you're definitely wanting some type of program or information. You can visit the below link for your router.
http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=474&sec=0#applications
You'll need to specify by clicking the "Click Here" based on the revision of your router (A, B, or D). Once you've selected a revision, you'll be able to download the application and firmware updates for your router.

Secured Wireless is better than a unsecured one. Configuring a secured wireless network easy.
· First Check it the Wireless is turned on in the modem.
You must see the wireless light glow on.
Wireless LAN (WLAN) should be Enabled before configuring the wireless network
· To make sure, if the WLAN is enabled you can check the WLAN light glow.
· If it is off, then you can be sure that WLAN is disabled.

how do i secure my dir-615 router
1. Log into the router by typing 192.168.0.1 in the address bar of your browser.
2. User admin for the username and leave the password blank (unless you have changed the username and password, if so use your custom settings)
3. Next run the security security wizard: Click Setup at the top then click Launch Wireless Security Setup Wizard.
4. It will take you step by step to set up a secure wireless network.
I would also suggest you change the router password while your in there to prevent others from accessing your router using the default setting if you have not already changed it.
You can download the user manual for the router at:
