You can reset the router by holding down the reset button and hold for 5 to 8 seconds. then manually configure the pc's ip address to the same scheme.

Example

Router probably is 192.168.1.1

then set the PC to 192.168.1.5

then the two can comunicate. Then type the routers ip address in your web broser and press enter, this should log you in to the router.

All of a sudden I cannot download any iTunes apps

Do you have a DSL(cable) or ADSL(phone Line) connection. If you have a ADSL connection, check that the filters that plug into the telephone socket are connected correctly, if you have a spare one i would try swapping it over to see if that is the cause of your problems. Have you tried unpluggin your router for a minute then plugging it back in that usually resets the router and it may be able to gain a better connection

Also what is the download speed like ,is it as quick as it usually is, have you contacted your ISP(Internet Service Provider) to see if there is any problems with your connection

Hi! We were using the

If you only unplugged the power cord at the router end you can try unplugging at the outlet end. Sometimes the AC adapters have a breaker that resets after being removed from power for a little while. You can also try plugging the adapter into another outlet that you know is working because no lights at all just means the router is not receiving power. If all of that fails you may need to have it repaired or replaced. Good luck

Try restarting your computer. If this doesn't work try using the reset button on your router and set up your router again by connecting your router to your computer using an ethernet cable.

D links are normally pretty user friendly. Try resetting the router itself. grab a paperclip or something small, and hold down the reset button in the back of the router for 10 sec. or until it resets by itself. once this is done your router should be restored back to default settings, aka. like when you first took it out of the box.

My neighbors are able to use my router how do i

Hi d_smonty! Here is the minimum recommendations I provide for anyone that set up a home wireless network for.

1. Change the default SSID for the access point. To many folks know the defaults
2. Change the default ADMIN password. Again to many people know the defaults.
3. Turn off the broadcast of the SSID. This will prohibit other folks from knowing you have the wireless access point.
4. Turn on MAC filtering. While it is true that many newer network cards can be set for MAC filtering without knowing the proper MAC they still won't get in.

These 4 steps will set you up for basic Wireless security and can be done on your own. Make sure you are doing this from a computer that is wired to the access point. Otherwise you will lose your wireless connection ad not be able to get in and change things. I also recommend that after each step you check the wireless connectivity.

Finally if you access point/router is providing Dynamic IP addresses to the other computes you can change the range of those IP addresses to be different then the default setting. Please feel free to contact me here under your topic if further assistance is needed Regards

D-link router provides signals through cable wired connection where each persons computer shares signals from the only computer that has network services. For example, one of the computers that has the internet on which router is connected either has capacity to network several additional computers or not. Usually the server computer that has connections with ethernet cables makes sharing signals possible beyond dial up phone line networked cable conections. The routers splits signals between computers requesting connectivity only becomes possible when enough capacity exist to several computers. The type of network strutures makes the link possible. For example, D-link router should allow to network more than one computer else another router that makes signal expansion possible is prefered. Circumpectively, ascertain that the computer from which video game is installed has the expansive capacity either in cables connection ports, wire links where router becomes the location where each device derives resources.

Need to Change WEP Password or confirm present password

The devices ip address is "192.168.0.1". type that into a web browser and a login screen will show up. enter your account password (not wep), or if u never did this before just leave it blank.
Then you can go to wireless configuration and change the code. I suggest using WPA2 as you can use a password instead of a really long code.

Hi evan,

Basically you don't need a CD if you want to change the password or put a password on the network all you need to do is to access the Wireless Settings Page of the Router and put or change the Network Key. To access your router you need a working computer connected to the router then open a Browser then type 192.168.0.1. the Username is admin and the password is blank. Go the the Wireless Settings Page and under Wireless Security Mode you can change the Security Mode to either WEP, WPA or WPA2 then input your desired password.

Rate me if this helps so i can help others.

Secured Wireless is better than a unsecured one. Configuring a secured wireless network easy.
· First Check it the Wireless is turned on in the modem.
You must see the wireless light glow on.
Wireless LAN (WLAN) should be Enabled before configuring the wireless network
· To make sure, if the WLAN is enabled you can check the WLAN light glow.
· If it is off, then you can be sure that WLAN is disabled.
