I need the code to set up a universal remote
Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

Cant find where to connect cable wire to tv
Looking at the back. there are two vent openings. Under the right vent there is an indentation that has composite video / audo connections. it is to the right of those, should be a small piece of cable comming out off the back. At the end of the cable is wher you connect the cable.

Magnavox 26MD255V/17
Try unplugging the set for 2 minutes first then try operations again. If that doesn't fix it maybe one of the buttons on the TV is stuck or the remote control is sending erratic commands.
LCD TV has sound but no picture.
Shine a small bright light at the screen when on and see if you can see a faint picture in the dark screen. If you can then your backlighting is not functioning due to ccfl (inverter), power supply, or back light lamps.
Phillips 14PT6107S/05
I found this on the net:
Try this, there are 2 versions of this set, one of these will work.
14PT6107
ENTER 062596 ON REMOTE
WITHIN 5 SECS PRESS MENU
SERVICE MENU SHOULD APPEAR
SELECT DVD
PRESS ENTER
OPTION 1 USE RIGHT BUTTON TO SELECT REGION "ALL"
NOW PRESS MENU 3 TIMES TO EXIT
OPTION 2 TYPE 00 PRESS OK
THEN MENU THREE TIMES
GO IN TO STANDBY AND POWER BACK UP
Option 2 worked for me. The thing I was failing to do was going in and out of 'standby'.
Also there is no 'all' instead 00 = 'all'
Phillip tv
Probably bad inverter board. It has a short in inverter board and as soon as it powers up it detects the excessive current draw and shuts the set back off. Open it up, unplug the power supply connections to the inverter board then try to turn it on, if you get a green light then the inverter is bad. Try E-bay for replacement board.
No red light on TV so doesn't turn on, yet cable box lit
hello, check you power cable make sure it is properly attached.
test your power outlet, also try using another outlet if possible,
try reseting your fuse box switches.
if it is not your outlets then you may have a fualty power supply, if theres no red light means theres no power reaching the internal circuts it may be numerous reason for this or even a simple blown fuse on the powersupply, but basically no red light means no power.
unfortunatly one or more of your internal board may need to be serviced or even replaced this is not something you want to do your self the voltages inside of these systems are very dangerous and you need model specific service manual, schematic, and electronic circut test equipment. if your electronically inclined you can check to see if your fuses are blown but i dont recomend it unless you have some basic safety and electronics training.
besides this most of these tv's need to have there voltages tested and adjusted after board replacements.
suggestion: search for a qualified service center who can give you a estimate for repair, search around some companies offer free estimates
and will even come out to your home and check and repair your tv on the spot.
if it is under warantee you may be able to get a replacement or repair without charge. if not then get your estimate find out whats wrong and find out what service center offers the best price for the service or repair.
hope this helps
good luck and happy holidays
I have Philips TV mode
I'm assuming that you have checked that the sound is not muted. To confirm that a reset to factory settings is the next procedure: Menu - Setup - General - Factory settings. If you don't see/hear any modifications then it's a hardware defect, not something with the settings.
This happens when the tv thinks that the headphones are used. Simple test to confirm that: plug in a pair of speakers and see if you get the sound on them. If you get and the situation doesn't changes when you unplug them then this is a mechanical defect: the small switch inside the headphone jack is faulty and keeps signaling that the headphones are plugged in when they are not.
The only way to fix that is to replace the jack, which involves a very delicate soldering procedure , one that only a good repairman can do - you must call one.
