Will not start when cold.

sounds like you have a weak power board, it could be a simple fix, its mostly to be weak capacitors, that will need replacing, you need to identify the faulty ones on the power board any that are rounded topped i.e not flat when looking from the side of them, they will need replacing with the same value i.e if they 16v 33uf then replace them with the same, also if the temp is on the 85c or 100c it dont matter but its best to replace them with 100c as they can handle more heat, as power board can get hot and over time the weak temp capacitors wear out due to the heat.

Power light but no picture or sound

Hi! My name is Chris. I have this Phillips Wide Screen TV that didn't have or come with a remote, so I had to go out and buy a universal remote for it today from a BIG W Store. I'm having some technical difficulties & problems with switching and turning it on, but as I use the universal remote to turn on the TV, I'm having a bit of a slight problem with it turning it on, Ok, Yes, it works and Powers on, but there is nothing showing or giving me the indication that there is no picture or sound showing up on this Wide Screen Phillips TV, But there is a little red & green light at the bottome right hand corner that keeps on flashing red when ever I use the universal remote to switch the power on. Is there a possibility, that i can get some help on here, to help me out with any suggestions, is to why I'm not getting any picture or sound showing up on this TV with this universal remote ? Is there anyway that i can maybe get some help with this to help me out with solving my issue with the Phillips Wide Screen TV ?

Has sound but the screen is black, no red lights

Unfortunately, most of the boards in that set can cause that symptom. You could have a trained TV technician diagnose it. You can also call Tri-State Module and ask their technicians for help. Below is a link to a parts list for that TV model.http://www.tristatemodule.com/t-Search.aspx?q=42PF7320A

Volumn increases randomly and wont turn down

sounds like the main switch on the volume has come lose and is making the volume switch put sound up. take the switch out of the tv and cut out the switch, (square part with the metal button) clean the board were the switch is with some warm water on a cotton bud. put the top part back on and with some sellotape stick it over the hole part that you cut out. should be fine then. if it is the square button type soldered to the board just replace with a new one. they don't cost a lot to buy take the old one with you to maplins and they will get you a replacment.

Tv turns on have sound but no picture for ages

If you are ready for some expensive boards you can try to fix or have it fixed. Average boards in this set are well above the average cost of similar parts in other sets, from a person who works in a shop---IF it can be fixed expect well over 200 dollars as a average.

My phillips wont switch back on after a power cut

this may sound dumb but did you have it plugged into a surge protector? if you didn't it may have decided to to toast some stuff inside, if its under warranty i suggest you bring it in, odds are they'll throw a brand new tv at you, if its not you may have to do a little tinkering and crack the tv open to take a look. UNPLUG your tv before you tinker.

Tv will not come on. Red light blinking on bottom

I have the model Philips 37PF7320A/37 won't turn on and MOST articles on the Internet say it's the Capacitors capictors capictors..I checked all of them. My tv just blinked red lights, had the clicking sound at first power on, but then goes black. No sound. No picture. Nothing. Just blinking red lights.MINE WAS RESISTOR no. 3318 , a 100 OHM RESISTOR ON POWER SUPPLY BOARD.I BOUGHT REPLACEMENT FOR .99 CENTS SOLDER IT, AND EVERYTHING WORKED!!!THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK.JUST A SUGGESTION..1. CHECK FOR BULGING CAPACITORS (90 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM)2. THEN CHECK FOR RESISTORS WITH MULTIMETER ( FALLS INTO THE OTHER 10 PERCENT OF THE PROBLEM.)TELL ME IF THAT [email protected]
