this is a common issue i think. below steps solved this issue for an user.

-Unplug TV / Press top buttons 5 times each to remove static from system boards (yes, each button 5 times each)
-Wait one full minute and plug TV in and press power on
The screen is cracked i need to replace the screen
There is no other way out than to replace the screen. Now the most important part is to get the estimate of the new screen before you can decide if this is feasible then to buy a new TV with the new formats.
So check this out and make sure you insurance covers this next time.

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If you open up the TV, you may find a bad part stick out like a sore thumb.
If you have some electronic experience, you can purchase a Service Manual over the internet and diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20.
I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

The monitor should have come with several cables and adapters. One adapter converts the stereo RCA plugs to a stereo 1/4 inch plug that connects next to the dvi outlet.
The tv shows power when plugged in but will not
Well its possibly more than just the power supply. The click you hear is the relay trying to start the TV. If it detectcs a voltage diffent to what it expects it stops and ties again. If the diffence is still detected it shuts down any display or sound function. there are many TV's on here that all have the same symptoms and faults.
There are 3 boards inside power Sustain 1 and Sustain 2. your problem is likely to be on the second board, but not necessaily the primary fault. The fault may be emmanating from any of or both the other boards.
There are a number of capacitors and even the convergence chip and also in some cases the power chip on the power board and both boards affected. You cannot play board swap jockey and fix it as it requires technical intervention with the right tools, test equipment, circuit diagram and the ability to generate a hatch pattern on the screen to tune the convergence . It is recommended all 3 boards are changed simultaneously to prevent the domino effect. This is NOT a DIY
Many try and rarely succeed and end up spending more $$ than a one off visit to a professinal and a fix. Cost of parts for this is abouy $300 + 1.5-2 hrs of labour.
If this unit is under warranty or extended warranty call it in now. refrain from trying to start it in case it catches fire. Some less skilled will possibly tell you to unp-lug it for 8 hrs replug it and it will start...maybe but it is still in a faulty and fire risk state and may only last a short time before combusting.
Thanks for using FIXYA
The tv shows power when plugged in but will not
Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair issue. You won't be
able to address the problem with troubleshooting. There is a part
inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're under warranty,
this will cost you nothing. If you're not under warranty the cost
will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor. However, be warned
that the cost could be considerably higher. You should call the
manufacturer for your full range of options.
