Sony bravia 32" lcd tv won't power up

Crack open your power supply again and take a look to make sure all caps are intact and not blown or bulging. Next check the main board for any possible caps and resistors, not likely as there is an external ps but possible. If you don't see anything odd then there may be an issue with the controller chip in which case you could replace but it would probably work out to the same price as buyin a new tv

Remedy

I have a Sony Bravia: KDL 32S3000.I loved the TV until recently, when suddenly the picture was a green one. What happened? Is this repairable? All other functions seem to work well"

Hi Edison In past years the Television used Analog components throughout the TV internals. There was RGB Circuitry (Red Green Blue) and all sorts of things that could be adjusted (and go wrong). Thats not the case any more. It's all digital just like your computer and memory. So... lots of high density IC's (chips) and not much to fiddle with or adjust. The HD Display reflects what is stored in the computer video memory. All Large Scale Integrated Circuits. There are ribbon cables & connectors that get loose or bad connections and then there are the electrolytic capacitors that leak or chemically break down. So unless you are an electronics guy & know something about components there isn't a lot you can do. Reset the Bravia box. Power Off / On Etc. Check the connections on the back. Perhaps a loose HDMI connector if the signal is coming in from another source. Unlikely though. Try bumping the TV from different angles or a slap on the back. If there is a bad internal connection then the colour may return in an instant. This would be an immediate clue to the cause. If all this fails to make a difference... Then it's probably a chip failure from something like internal overheating. Take it to a dealer or technician (cheaper) rather than have them come to you. They have better facilities in the workshop and they will need to open it up. In most cases they will not fix to component level any more. They will just replace the motherboard or whatever with a factory replacement. Hopefully repair is covered by Warranty or Insurance. Cheers

I have a sony bravia xbr 32 inch and the picture

It is possible that Twin Picture function is enabled, turn it off with remote/ menu options.
If this is not the case then T-Con board sounds bad and needs to be tested/ replaced.
Qualified tv tech will test and replace it.
Thanks.

Does my 32 inch Bravia have a fan?

There are no fans inside your 32 inch Bravia. I don't know the sound you are asking about. Is it a high pitch squeal? Is it a low volume humm? In either case you may hav e a bad filter capacitor or a problem in the Dolby noise reduction filter. In any of these cases, the filter cap in any location on the board can create the first sign of a problem. For starters, always suspect your filter caps.
