Why is sony bravia dark screen

If your TV seems to be darker than you think it should be, it is possible that the problem is with the light sensor. The light sensor will automatically adjust the picture brightness based on the ambient light that is in the room, (i.e. if the room is bright the picture will also be bright, if it is dark the picture will also be dark). To turn this feature off go to Settings > General Setup > Light Sensor.

A fine green vertical line displayed on the Sony Bravia 46.

Thats a pixel data problem, there's no data being sent to that row of pixels so they don't change color. This is a pixel address registry (PAR) issue and the PAR circuits need to be serviced its usually due to open or shorted SMT components on the PAR circuits. PAR also sends data, voltage, and control to each pixel, the green line you see are pixels that have voltage but because there's no data sent too them their all green because there's no control. If the pixels have voltage but no data or control they show up as green red, blue, yellow, or whit line vertically down the LCD panel. The vertical-horizontal section of PAR are controlled by 16 to 32 bit micro-controllers which may need replacing. If its under warranty take it back if not have your local repair center fix the tv for you...

Accidentally set my TV to factory defaults

only digital signal is available now analog has been switched off no longer transmitting. You could try returning in all of your channels from the main menu the tv can do this automatically but you need to select the procedure . retune the digital channels only1. click on the home button2. scroll sideways till you reach settings3. in settings scroll down or up and click on digital set-up (centre button of your scroll control) 4.then scroll down to, and click on digital auto tuning (centre button of your scroll control) this will activate automatic channel tuning the tv will do the rest and will wipe out old settings and retune in all channels

My Sony Bravia picture has just gone off. I can still hear sky programmes but no picture. I've tried powering off and back on but no joy. Any idieas please?

The T-CON is the first thing I'd repair/replace. Well, maybe after checking the inverters, but that's a bit harder to do than to replace and see if it works.

40 inch sony bravia making buzzing noises....any suggestions

Hello, There are 2 small 1.5" fans that are located on the top right and left sides of the screen. These fans are of the non ball bearing type, so the bearings may be wearing out. You can either replace the fan or add a couple drops of oil to it. Remove the label on the back of the fan and put the oil there, it should quiet down. This will work for a while but eventually the fan will need to be replaced. Good Luck! Rich Lilja

Hi my tv keeps going pixulated and losing signal. it is connected to an outside aerial using coax. i have done a factory reset, the problem persists. what should i do now?

how do other input sources work?(ie. DVD, VCR) if they are OK, the next thing is to double check your antenna & all connections to & from it, also the direction of the antenna. Also, remember that the location of said antenna is important, is it crowded by foliage, has new building sprouted around you, does it do it on all the channels. Usually this problem is from a source other than the TV. As a last resort you might replace the tuner, but I would be looking very closely at some of these other issues.

My television screen blacks out randomly.Turning it back on restores the picture. It is less than three years old. Is it reaching the end of its service life already?

Could be a problem with the power supply or main board; might need a professional to investigate more.

I lost the 3 screws to hold the base to the tv

In the instructions for the TV when new, there is a description on how to fit the base which tells you the screw size and length. If you have not got this I suggest going the Sony's website and down load the instruction. Putting too long screws in can seriously damage your TV !
