Slide a screwdriver through that cutout and pop out the bezel the surrounds the switch. Remove the spring clip that is around the round circuit board and slide out the circuit board.

This mic does require a longer power button "press" cycle...used during on and off in hopes you don't turn mic off or on accidentally. Check the battery, battery polarity and battery connection...no luck, then it's probably been dropped one time too many.
