that's always a possibility but not always the case. The thermostat may not be cycling correctly or set wrong. The condenser could be dirty or if there is a fan, it may not be running. Freeze ups can also cause an "Out of temp." condition. Check it out.

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. To reset the unit you’ll need to switch it off, unplug
the switch from the power socket and mains and let it off at least 8-10 hours
to resolve the issue. If still the issue persists and as you are able to hear
the compressor and fan working you’ll need to check that there is no leakage in
the system. The top fan will only function when it’s too cold and the heater is
in on position.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or
else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee
Noisy Wine Fridge
The problem is likely with one of the two fans. A new fan is available from Danby (1-800-263-2629). My noisy fan is the condensor fan located at the bottom rear of the device. After removing the cooler from under the cabinet, the source of the noise was obvious. You will need to tell them whether it is the upper fan or lower fan. Leave the cooler upright for a few hours before you plug it in so that you do not damage the condenser. Price for the fan from Danby is $20.15 including shipping. Users Manual is available at
