Code E4 on dandy wine
We had that problem in 2007, about 10 months after buying it from Costco. It was under warranty so the tech came and changed both sensors. It's worked fine until Feb 11. Now, the lower section ran so cold it froze some bottles. I am looking for a solution to that problem.

might be that the fan blades strike the casing. switch of your cooler. pull the plug out to prevent el-schock. turn fan blades manually and observe....

When your wine cooler starts to freeze things this way it usually is as a result of either the temperature sensor not functioning properly therefore not sending the trigger signal to the defrost sensor to signal when to start the defrost process. Or the defrost sensor not functioning at all. Although this could also be as a result of some short circuit on the board but most likely it is the temperature sensor or the defrost sensor. Get both of these checked and if possible replaced and your freezing issue is over.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

good morning. according to mark rydal the director of dandy inc (publish ny times 22sept 208) there were faulty compressor electrodes fitted to the 283-3400 series yet there is no advice on the fix as a tech i beleve the cause is faulty sensors in the pcb but to date all the paper work i can find on these problems has the owners binning them after having them repaired as the fault re occurs over and over
hope this helps

Hi,
This means one of two things the overload relay is bad or the compressor. Pull the unit out remove the back panel there is a box on the left side of the compressor take it off and shake it if it sounds like glass is inside the relay is bad if it does not the compressor is locked up and kicking off on the overload making that noise.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi,from your problem,it seems the problem is from the logic board, you can however use a mulimeter to read the voltage supplied by the board,if it reads a low amount of voltage it means the board need to be serviced and cleaned thoroughly, but if it reads no voltage at all meaning its not supplying no amount of power,it means the logical board is bad and needs to be replaced.
Thanks and take care
Set temp to 42 and
sounds like the compressor is not running . ck the connectons at compressor and listen for a click in the cold control as it may be bad .. / noises like clicking at compresor . may be the relay that starts it .. mm

HI. This will be a simple fix here. The culprit will be the main PCB. There is a fan control relay on that board that has failed. The necessary actions are to replace the damaged board, asap. Once the MAIN PCB has been replaced, the unit will return to its normal functioning properties.
