1) Has the laptop been cleaned out inside, since it was new?Physically cleaning the inside out?I would have it professionally cleaned out. test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as faulty fan lead can cause you problems

computers need all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

check the CPU central processing unit make sure it has thermal paste and dust free secure seating

also check your computer ram modules and cmos battery make sure it has charge and they are dust free and securely seated some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

It is not unusual for windows to lock up during a system restore. I am curious to know which operating system you have and what prompted you to do the restore. In any event, I would simply power down by holding the power button for 10 seconds. Start it up again and see what happens. If that does not work, I would start the computer in safe mode by pressing F8 during startup BEFORE the windows logo appears. If the computer runs in safe mode but not in a normal start up, I would remove any software of hardware that you may have installed since the computer was working. You can also select a new restore point to see if that works. Windows will also give you the option to start from the last known good configuration from the safe mode window. That is another option. Let me know if that does not work.

Problem with Graphic driver, reinstall it, by going to device manager and unistalling / updating the graphic / vdo driver.

Bring it to a computer shop and have them test it.

If the rechargeable battery is more than one to three years old it will probably need to be replaced. The second possibility is the charging circuit on the motherboard has failed, a very rare situation.

Press Fn key and hold, now look for the icon that shows laptop and monitor screen on the top F keys and press this will switch to external monitor.

Power pins on the socket maybe broken.

Whenyou plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the laptop, wherethe plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of the power cord?When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning,lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and takenote of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short). Maybe you have a Static ChargeBuildup. Remove the Power Cord, then Press and Hold the power button for30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in and hit thepower button to see if it boots. Maybeyour memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.Removethe Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of the memory chips. Set thechip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you knowthe memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and tryrebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put theother chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just toverify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the openmemory chip slot and try booting.
