Hi, is it an IDE or SATA hard drive? If you know how to remove it check and see which it is, then you can go to any online computer store to by a replacement. or if you have a Retail store close, take it to them to see if they have what you need.

when looking at the specs make sure you have the complete model number because there is a little difference as you scroll down.

Its trying to boot from a cd or dvd in the drive that is not bootable--take it out or change the boot order in the BIOS (F2 or DEL at startup)

The EVO 610 has a built-in modem and a network LAN but no wireless LAN.
If you wish to connect to the Internet at home and elsewhere you have a few options.
You can use a PCMCIA wireless network card or a USB wireless device. These devices will allow you to connect to WiFi places such as Internet cafes or free WiFi locations such as McDonalads, Starbucks and airports etc.
OR
You can use an Internet Service Provider that provides country and or state wide roaming access, and they usually use wireless netword cards that integrate with the mobile (G3) network.

You need to check with various Internet Service Providers to see what they offer, the various plans, costs and also if they offer roaming access.
Be aware that connecting to public WiFi networks can have security issues if you are not protected.

Such Problem are caused when there is no wireless driver/wireless assistance software on the Laptop(COMPUTER SYSTEM)

SOLUTION.
Get the Wireless Driver of the External Wifi you use with the laptop , Re - Install it and also try to Install the WiFi assistance.
if the problem persist then you have to change your External Wifi

You need to download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

I have one of these I use at home. You have three choices here. One is to get a USB wifi adapter which is cheapest, or get a PCMCIA adapter (the credit card looking things that slide into the side) or find one of the compaq wifi adapters for the 610. These are the slowest, and mount under the grey portion of the cover. There is one screw that holds it on and the cover then slides off. You can find these for sale on ebay.

The USB ones work but the usb ports are only USB1 so they are slower and take a noticable amount of overhead to use. The PCMCIA cards work the best.

Sup guys i found the cure to this horroble blue screen death for this N610c. Ok i called hp and they wanted $69.99 for tech support well just imagine what i told them to do lol. Anyway i did my research and guess what i found out. That the updated driver is made to screw up your connection so that you have to call tech support and they can steal your money.
Im a computer technician since 1990 and what i discover was that beautiful driver that works here is a list of drivers that cannot be used on the Evo N610C because it causes conflits that no one can fix i know for sure.
List of the no no drivers are:
These drivers will make your screen go from windows to BLUE.

Here is how i fixed the problem i deleted everything that had to do with LANMultiport drivers every single one then i searched my laptop to remove the rest of the lost files.
Once that was done the i installed this driver (sp23031)
Once that was installed and the puter rebboted the wifi card found my wireless connection and asked me to input my Network Key and walla it works great now without any problems.
Im using windows XP Home i just bought memory cause im installing windows 7 32 bit.

Finally the key is this driver (sp23031) for both home and pro eddition.

Formating it wont change a thing. you need to reset the C-Mos
