How does my Lowrance HDS-5

To connect a LRA 2400 to a Lowrance HDS-5 sounder/chartplotter, you can run an ethernet RJ45 cable from your Radar Processing box to the HDS-5 unit. You will need an adaptor cable for the RJ 45 cable to hook into the HDS-5 head unit. This is part no 000-0127-56.

As for the different transducer pinouts, I am not sure what transducer you have now so I cannot say if there is any kind of converter plug available, however, the HDS-5 units do seem to run best using the transducers that are made for them. Your best option may be to buy the transducer that is made for them, and this will directly connect to the display unit.

Hope that helps!

Restore default settings

IF YOU WANT TO RESTORE YOUR DEFAULT SETTINGS, GO TO THE CONTROL PANEL ON YOUR COMPUTER,SELECT SYSTEM SETTINGS AND PRESS THE BUTTON THAT SAYS "DEFAULT SETTING". YOU MIGHT HAVE TO DO THIS MANUALLY FOR EACH ITEM YOU WANT TO SET TO DEFAULT. YOU ALSO CAN GO TO SYSTEM RESTORE, THIS LET YOU RESTORE YOUR COMPUTER BACK TO IT'S ORIGINAL SETTINGS. I HOPE THIS HELPS.

Hi i have installed a lowrance m52 s/gps in my boat i have turned it on while boat still on trailer and the unit is reading 5.6 ft deep, is this what it should say?

GPS uses satellites to determine position and altitude. Depending on where you are, above or below sea level, it may say you are flying in the air or a few hundred feet below the water. YOU have to determine what your mean altitude is by knowing what the local altitude is above or below sea level. If you were in Denver, Colorado, it would tell you that the boat was about 5,341 feet up in the air. In Death valley you would be below the water because it is below sea level, -272 feet.

3400 face scratchhed, can it be replaced

Yes, but you may have to send it back to Lowrance to be fixed and that could cost a couple of hundred dollars. I have Humminbirds on my boat and the smaller 997C Si screen was scatched, but not badly. I actually tried the same remody on it that I have in the past for scratched cd's and DVD's.There is a car wax like polish that you can get for scratched CD's and DVD's that you rub on much like car wax, once it dries it hazes over and then you come back over it with a microfiber towel or paper towel to polish it out. in my case it worked well enough to where the scratch is not that apparent any longer. It is still there but the compound sort of filled in the scratch enough to where it doesnt defrag the pixels on my screen. I can live with it considering the alternative is a couple of bills out of my pocket and the CD scratch compound was like $20.I have a buddy that shattered his screen on the lowrance, he sent it in and for a like $260.00 they sent him a replacement unit and took his old unit as trade in.In short it can be fixed, I would not attempt to have anyone other than Lowrance do it if its bad though as it can void the warranty.
