Do you mean there is no sound only in media player? You hear sounds in other applications? If so then you have probably muted your player. There is a small speaker icon in the player at bottom of the screen. Just click on it once and you will hear sound again.

In order to reset your computer to factory setting you have to have the system restore disk and put it in your cd drive and reboot your computer with it inside... after pc boots up, a screen should popup click on restore to factory settings... if you dont have a disk reply back and i can give you a link for download..

they can be horizontal. I think your graphics card on your motherboard is bad. you should consider sending it to acer so they can replace it with a new one.

Boot the computer in safe mode. Do this by pressing F8 while the computer is starting then select safe mode. Log into account and run the anti virus. Cursor should work in safe mode.

Tell me if i am wrong, but is that french ? And i have not seen a SiS chipset of any kind for the last 9 years, i thought they died about that long ago. Some manufacturer chipsets were not able to be updated, only by the OEM manufacturer and as such the drivers could not be updated. ( A prime example is the Ferrari 3200 with Ati 128mb gpu only had 1 driver which was created by Acer, tried to update via AMD, but did not recognise the card. The unit is now whats known as "end of service life" and not supported by Acer. As an experiment, have you tried the official drivers from Acer to see if they work ?

Dear you need to check 2 things. 1. Replace the Ram (replace the ram and then check if it gives error or not) 2. Update your Windows / graphic drivers to the latest one.. you also need to update Direct x . Goodluck Regards-Bilal

This isn't a solution as of yet but if you have updated everything and it runs fine for 14/17 minutes it could be that the card is overheating. I have run into this several times with gamers. The load on the card causes it to heat up more when playing games. Check and make sure all vents and the fan are clean for one. Over time they will clog and not cool your CPU and Video Card. In other cases the video card is just not up to it. It will play for a time, overheat and then distort or stop working at all. Is that card adequate for the games you play? One gaming laptop I worked on overheated and soon the graphics card would not work at all. Had to replace the motherboard. First make sure it's not overheating, Second,check compatibility of your hardware to your game. Third, double check your drivers, completely uninstall then reinstall. Hope this helps. Good Luck
