What machine are you getting this error code on? Because the EE code does mean an error but a different error on different things. So if you can tell me what are you receiving that on I can help you a little better.

Broken compressor isolation mounts maybe.

Not sure what all could be wrong but sounds like your freon gas is low. That is a good place to start.

Unplug and leave for 4 hours . then plug back in . turn temp up and reach in the back of fridge and see if you feel cold coming in from the vent. If not replace fan motor in freezer side .

IT may be the temperature sensor and it has a capillary tube characteristic and causes the unit to click on and off when it needs to.. Dont mess with it. No moving it or kinks will cause it to not work correctly.

You might have a bad defrost timer

Intermittent noise is usually a sign that it is not flat/ on an unstable floor. The truth of the matter is that all appliances today are built cheaper as time goes on and that makes funny things happen including noise. The fact that it is not happening all the time tells me that it is not a mechanical failure. IE: if a motor goes bad,it stays bad and does not have mood swings 3 times a day! Easy fix..
