Hello. I have the same issue. I called the appliance company and they will do research . My cooktop got progressively worse and now takes 30 mins plus to turn on

I realize this is over a year old. I have the same unit with the same error code. Last night, mine made a popping noise followed by smoke and then displayed the 41 and all E's. I pulled the breaker immediately. I'm sure that at least one controller board is toast.
I called Sears and it is under warranty but for parts only, so I guess I will give them a call and schedule the repairman. This should be fun.

Anyone else experienced this failure??

We purchased a 36" elite model on ebay for our house we are building. I finally installed a year later only to have error codes 39 & 40. I completely dissasembled it and put it back together. No luck. However after much searching I found the service manual for the 36" Icon by Electrolux (same manufacturer as the Elite). The guts look mostly the same. Manual states your codes 10 16 12 are for defective key sensors. I found out that on my cooktop if I held a key for maybe 20 sec or more it would beep once - indicating the key was not defective.

sounds like knob needs replacing (broken).

Clear the lock mechanism -- as indicated by the DOOR LOC light -- by pressing and holding in the oven door light switch for 20 to 30 seconds. While the switch is depressed, the latch motor will gradually withdraw the lock, allowing you to open your oven door.

Shut your gas off at the tank or meter valve. Open windows and doors and vacate. Call an appliance or gas technician!

Suggest down load the owners manual online and reference error codes.

Could be the lock needs replacing the oven won't self clean if the door lock isn't functioning it's a safety thing so you don't get your face burnt . Ray

Usually you can copy wiring from other element. Safest to consult wiring diagram found inside control panel.

Check fuses. Burners are usually fused in pairs. Probably 2 fuses since 220V.(one for each 110 side of feed).

Do you mean safety light to let you know burner is hot?????
