Your PS2 cannot read DVD's it CAN talk to SONY USB devices but not much else!

It sounds like the laser unit is faulty. Replacement lasers can be bought from ebay and other web sites. It is fairly easy to replace but you will probably need a soldering iron as there is usually a blob of solder which has to be removed from the new laser unit for the laser to work.

You must disassemble your ps2 (if you know how, otherwise look it up on youtube) and make sure the laser itself works in the first place. If it doesn't you may need to replace the disc drive which can be a real pain in the ***. Just be glad it's not an xbox i guess XD (i own xbox -_- ****...)

Do you know anyone else with a PS2 that you could try it on? You need to know if it is the game or PS2.

It could have been that the disc has faded due to storage or being left on a windowsill and this can be hard to notice.

Have you tried other games? Some games you can set the vibrate setting.

DEAR FRIEND, YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE LENS WIRE CONNECTING FROM THE MOTHER BOARD TO THE LENS, IF IT STILL OCCURS KINDLY CHANGE THE LENS.

yes you have a bad laser pick up censor . now you can try to clean the laser by open the unit or buy the laser (pick up censor) and replace i have fix many of this unit and by cleaning never work tha price on the part $50 to take it to a repair shop may be to fix it $90

plz change your lens eye then remove you're problem

clean the ps2, that's what i did to mine

1. DEAR FRIEND, YOU WILL HAVE TO UNSCREW YOUR CONSOLE TO THE MOTHER BOARD.
2. FLIP THE MOTHER BOARD,
3. READ ALL THE FUSE IN THE GAME TO SEE IF ANY ONE IS CUT
4. REPLACE IT AND TEST IT.
   

Unfortunately, your HARD DRIVE (aka: Hard Disk), located on the left side of the unit, has crashed. You will need to replace the HD.

When you replace your hard drive, you will need to have the latest firmware on a usb stick. Download the firmware from the playstation official website onto a usb stick. Once prompted by your system you will need to insert the usb stick into the PS3. Good luck..

you may need a new laser. the clicking noise is it moving back and forth trying to read the disc, it'll go the end and skip a few times come back and repeat the process until its satisfied that it cant read the disc. replace the laser and you should fix the problem.
