Compaq nx6110 no clock I presume you meant. the DATE IS WRONG and if changed in BIOS to correct as all can do. it will not safe that means the RTC CMOS coin cell battery is now dead as most are at 7 year old. the cure is replace with a new one, spend a buck. RTC is chip called REAL time CLOCK, just like a wrist watch in fact. and like that watch dies with the battery dead. a 2005 PC, so is 10 years old in 2015 and is the high water mark on super good life span. means DUE NOW.

Well I, generally reboot my comp when this stuff goes wack. I'm guessing you tried that. Also, let it stay off for a while. Try reinstalling the driver, updating the driver, and/or downloading a new one. Please rate, if I was helpful.

There should be a setting within the comp. Is it connected to the comp monitor and the tv? Perhaps from the comp to the tv with the monitor from the comp as well? Well if so, you may need a certain setting within the comp. Check under (on xp) display properties, and then under the settings tab. Please rate!

if you have nothing wrong with the laptop and it start up normally , do nothing it may have moved to a notice that will go after a few seconds (10)and then proceed to normal start up if it doesn.t then on pressing the start button hold down the delete key and eventually the bios menu ( start up menu) will come up on the screen you van make changes to the start up procedures her but be very careful as any changes may get you into bigger trouble that what you have now if you get the lap top running normally( not touching the bios settings ) press icon in the bottom lh of the task bar( flag in the world ) and that brings up the programs at the bottom of that list is a search bar type in chkdsk and then enter and puts the laptop into a check of the disk operation that operation will find , fix and place the registars in all of the correct positions for all programs , files , folders , photos etc on the disc and will take up to 6 hours to complete if the disc is operating correctly If you have a mechanical problem with the disc , you will get that message and the only fix is a new hard drive

This is probably meaning the battery is low or at fault.

The Power on Password is set from the BIOS configuration. Ask that person who borrowed your Compaq for the password. Once you have this password, you can enter the BIOS configuration and remove/disable this password.
Depending how old you Compaq is, removing the BIOS battery and main battery for 15+ mins may remove this password and restore the BIOS to the factory default (insert both batteries again) and configure the BIOS Date and Time etc.
BUT if the the password is stored on an EEPROM chip then removing will not fix this problem. There are no backdoor passwords available.

At boot time select DEL or F1 key to get into BIOS. Then advanced settings and Hard Drive password.

You need to locate the Cmos battery, not the jumpers, this is not a desktop.

Locate the Cmos battery, disconnect the battery for ten seconds, and Bios will reset to factory default.

You can find info for this on the AMD website, basically it is a way of connecting two identical graphics cards to increase power on a desktop PC, but it has also been applied to a couple of laptop models (most noticably, Alienware).
