Please expalin to me what this battery powers, i have been a appliance repair technician for over 30 years and have NEVER seen a battery used to power any component, i know manufactures come out with new stuff all the time so i would like to know what this battery does

Clean the seal on the metel and the seal real good with some steel wool or a good stiff scrub brush. If the magnates in the seal are pulled away for te metel to far you can take a blow dryer on high while pulling firmly on the bad spots and letting the dryer reform them. This takes a little time but may fix it until your ready to replace the entire seal outfit. Also for good measure just because>>>>>

Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed

Check the evaporator fan inside the unit
Check the condenser fan (if equipped) under the unit
Check the compressor mounts - they are rubber and could be wearing causing the compressor to be touching something under the unit, making the noise.
Check for any loose parts like screws, hinge screws, sheet metal etc.

Refrigerators dont loose refrigerant (extremely rare) for the past 20 years .(except Amana ) I think your problem is elsewhere such as : dirty coils , frost on the rear wall (behind panel) indicating a defrost problem , compressor fan or freezer fan not working .

yes. This is the way freezers work. Every freezer will do this. If the freezer doesnt do this it generally does not work properly. So to answer your question... its nothing to worry about.

hi is the fan motor going in the freezer. if so how long has it been plugged in if more than 24 hrs and the fan is going. it could be that because it sat for 10 years the lines that go inside could have rusted out. so if this is the case its scrap sorry. the appliance doc.

No it is not the timer. You may have an open overload protector at the compressor. Check across the overload for a reading with an ohm meter. If it reads zero it is good, if not replace it.
