Why does my Honeywell HMW450 humidifier keep shutting off?
Here are a few things to check:
-make sure the heating element is clean. If there is a thick layer of scale (mineral deposit), then the unit will not turn on.
-there are magnets on the water reservoir that allow the unit to turn on. If these magnets are not lined up properly, then the unit thinks there is no tank, and thus, not turn on.
-turn the humidity up past your target point. The humidity near the unit could be a lot higher than the rest of the room, causing it to shut off prematurely.
Hope this helps!

Need replacement o-ring for water tank cap
This is a posting from someone other than myself...however, it presented a good solution.
A solution to the problem with the fill cap failing/leaking. It was/is not the cap, it's the gasket/grommet/o-ring. Remember "THE MAGIC BULLET", well the gasket, that's where you tighten the top to the bottom, some are white and some are black, THEY FIT the Honeywell HWM450!!! ------- Problem solved.

Cleaning water tray
I usually just balance the tray upside down on top of the base and fill the edges with vinegar. You could also put the the tray in a bowl filled with vinegar and submerge the whole thing.

Honeywell HE200 humidifier only runs when fan/heat are off
It sounds like the wiring for the humidifier may not be correct. The solenoid valve, which controls the flow of water to the humidifier, should be wired to the humidistat and the transformer, not to the furnace or fan. It is possible that the bottom wire of the solenoid is connected to the wrong terminal on the transformer or humidistat, or that the top wire is connected to the wrong terminal on the humidistat. I recommend consulting the installation instructions for your specific humidifier model, or consulting a professional HVAC technician to verify the correct wiring.

High-pitched noise from Honeywell Humidifier
Sounds like the high pitched noise is coming from the solenoid valve which allows water to enter the humidifier. Typically when the water pressure is too high, it causes this high pitched sound at the solenoid valve. You can adjust the water pressure a little at a time and see if it helps, just make sure you’re getting enough water across the water panel.
