There's no test equipment for DLP lamps.The only way to test the lamp is with a working projector.I am a Tech many times, I can tell by a visual inspection.If you purchased a cheap lamp, or from someone beside a Sanyo dealer then, you may have a bad lamp.www.aaatvservice.com

hi,
for replacing the lamp do the fallowing.
1 turn off the projector and disconnect the AC power . allow the projector to cool for at-least 45 minutes.
2. remove the screw at the bottom to oppen the lamp cover.
3. after that remove 2 screws of the lamp and pull out lamp by grasping the handle.
4. replace the lamp with a new one and tighten the 2 screw s back in to position make sure that the lamp is set properly. replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw.
5. connect ac power turn on te projector and go to the menu select lamp counter make it zero


Replacement lamp type number is : POA-LMP90

These are either located close to the heat-producing part or near the fan exhaust port.

Ok kumar i did some research on your problem.

Im not real savvy with projectors, but im going to try and lead you into the right direction. Now when you connect your projector to your computer, you need to go to your input settings on your projector and put them on "auto". In your product manual it says the computer should automatically detect the projector. Now if the projector isnt displaying a proper screen then you need to to go into the manual settings and adjust the settings.

This is the manual for your projector. Scroll down to the table of contents and click on the bold letters COMPUTER INPUT click that and read a little about the way your computer connects to the projector. I hope this helps, please let me know an update. thnx

Try to change your VGA cable if the problem occur your A/V board was deffective.

Most laptops have a Function (Fn) key in an alternate color (blue maybe) from the usual key text color (white usually).

By pressing this key, along with another key that has text of the same (blue) color, perhaps labelled with "LCD/CRT" or a pic of a monitor, or of 2 squares - one single square and one double "square in square", you can toggle between the modes of:
1. Laptop display only,
2. external display only, or
3. Both displays.

Be sure to check your laptop model manual for specific details to make sure this is possible.

THE PIN CONNECTION MAYBE DIFFERENT IN THE OTHER LABTOPS YOU WOULD HAVE CONTACT THE VENDEER AND CHECK THE PIN OUT FOR THAT PORT AND SEE IF THEY ARE THE SAME.

This might be a faulty Mainboard - that will need repair or replacement - and is quite expensive.

First check by using another cable , if the problem still occurs then the above will most probably apply.

2. Press the Menu button and the on-screen menu will appear
3. Press 3/4 button to remove the red frame pointer to the setting Menu icon
4. Press the 6 button to move the red frame pointer to the Lamp Counter Reset item and then press Select button
5. The message "lamp replace counter reset?" appears. Move the point to and then press Select button
6. Another confirmation dialog box appears and select to reset the Lamp Replace Counter

Being an old projector and possibly it has an old lamp fitted. The lamp as it ages produces more heat. The fans as they age unless cleaned regularly. This build up of heat damages firstly the blue LCD imager and then the red. Nothing can be done about that except replace the LCD imagers. As a Sanyo Authorised service department, we used to charge them out at £1031 plus fitting.
