Put new power supply in will not power up

Make sure you supplied power to everything necessary. The motherboard gets power. Also: hard drive, cd rom drives... and now new graphics cards take two 4 pin connectors if you have that those need to be plugged in, otherwise you can't see anything on the monitor. And don't forget to switch the toggle switch from 0 to 1, on the back of the power supply. I've never had a faulty power supply shipped to me, but it is possible, but not likely.

How to remove contiguous files

Hi there,
You don't want to do that for the simple reason you won't know which files you are getting rid of.What is happening when you are defragmenting your hard drive the red lines are parts of files and when they are put back where they belong they turn blue. It's like throwing a deck of cards up in the air and when they land all over the place, this is the same as a fragmented hard drive. Now when you pick up the cards and put them in to suits like a new deck of cards you have defraged the deck so to speak. That frees up space on the hard drive and your PC will last longer,if you ever hear your hard drive making a clacking sound that's because fragments of files are all out of place and the arm is working over time trying to put different files back together and it will wear out your hard drive.

Most likley you have a fried power supply. Try this first unplug the computer from the power cord for 5 minutes then plug back in and go into safe mode see how to go into safe mode below.

To start the computer in safe mode 1.
You should print these instructions before continuing. They will not be available after you shut your computer down in step 2.

Click Start and then click Shut Down.

I lost my admin account password how do i get back

hi

there is a way to reset the admin password which only a few people know
for this we need to have the operating system disc, since this is a sophisticated troubleshooting in which you boot up the computer using the operating system disc and at a particular point during the installation we press a combination of shift +f10
in case if you want it to be resolved without resetting the computer and loosing any of your data i would suggest that you perform the troubleshooting under the supervision of a good technician

good luck

Controllers done gone missing

You should be able to choose the path the files extract before they are written. Just change the "C" to an "I" when the program asks you where to put the files.

Gateway GT5014 will not boot.

Ok, this is a mother board issue. the entire mother board seems to be malfunctioning. the blinking amber/green light is confirming this. the mother board may have some fried circuitry and it will have to be replaced in this situation.

I would recommend extracting the mother board and stripping it. look for any discoloring factors that will lead to a burn out location. this will direct you to the necessary repair zone.

Please rate and have a great day:)

Most of time you would press a F10 to boot into PC angel recover mode. In your case since your going to be upgrading to Windows XP Pro I would suggest to download the drivers from the gate way website and then update your service packs. Below is a link that has the drivers to your computers system. You can get more specific with a service tag number to narrow down the amount of components that usually ship with that model of computer.

Remove contagious flies without re formatting

Actually its not 'contagious' its 'contiguous'. It means that your files are not fragmented. Its in good sequence and order. Why you want to delete them. They are good for your PC's health. They don't put pressure on the memory use. But however if you have diffrent problem or if I m sot able to understand what you are trying to say then let me know.

GT5014 won't boot

Generally this means there is a problem with the power suppy as it is not giving a correct voltage to the motherboard to start the computer. check your fans on the power supply, make sure they start when you try to start the computer . A power suppy may be purchased and installed fairly easy. and you should spend no more than 50 dollars on the parts.
