Dell optiplex light turns orange

Does anything ever post on the screen when you hit the power button? Maybe the monitor is bad or the video card inside the computer is bad. Normally if the video card is bad the monitor will display a message of No Signal. If you are getting no message then I think your monitor is bad. To isolate the problem you need to put another monitor on the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, family member or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed Monitor displays and works, then your original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does the same as the original monitor then your video card is bad.

Dell OptiPlex GX620 no boot sometimes it appears black screen with a cursor blinking

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord? When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

Sir my pc has automatically restart and does not worked proprely they can give the fatal error plzz helpp me

Are you getting a Blue Screen error and can't read it because the computer keeps restarting? If So, turn off the computer, then turn it on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see Safe Mode. Scroll down past safe mode and you will see an option to Disable Automatic Restart. The next time you boot up you will be able to see the error message. If it is a Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) error message, you might need a system disc.

Powerbutton flashing yellow

If the main power button LED is flashing or solid yellow, this could indicate a hardware problem.

Was it running good before?

Are the diagnostic LED lights all green?

Here is what dell says:

If the power light is blinking amber  —

The computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.

  • Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location (if applicable).
  • Ensure that the processor power cable is securely connected to the system board.

Do you remember what the BSOD said?

Message on monitor says " no analog signal".

If you are getting no post display on boot up (dell spash screen, and windows loading screen):First step is to plug a different monitor into the computer. If this works you most likely have a bad monitor. If not then it is a hardware issue with the video card on the computer. If you getting the post screen then you may have your resolution set to high, boot in safe mode (F8 on the key board right after the post screen) and chose safe mode. once windows comes up, right click the back ground and chose a lower resolution setting.Hope this helps

Can anyone tell me can you locate a lab top with the info from the box it was purchase sey or no?

Unless you low jacked the computer you will not be able to locate them. However for the police reports, you can retrive the serial number and model numbers off the outside of the box. There is a set of bar codes that have this information on them.

Dell Optiplex GX620 Desktop PC's south bridge

Check the capacitors on the motherboard, Dell had a BIG problem with faulty capacitors on the GX270, GX520, GX620, GX745 and GX755 units. The parts would cause the unit to either not boot at all or lockup booting or running programs. I would bet you have some that are just beginning to fail and the motherboard power is not stable which would mean the chips are not getting enough power. Here is a link to an article about the issue and what to look for on your board.http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/dell-optiplex-gx620-motherboard-repair/I hope this helps you out, if so please rate my solution.BuddyMc
