Grandson installed Windows 7 from a uttorent it's fake. how can i unstall it and get my Windows XP back?

If you have the original CD which came with the computer: 1. backup all data - burn DVD's or use external storage media 2. Boot to the original CD and follow the instructions to re-install Windows XP (you may have to hit F12 while booting to get boot menu and choose the CD/DVD drive). 3. Use the second (drivers) CD to load the drivers for all your hardware 4. Support.dell.com and do all driver updates 5. Do all updates and patches from Windows Updates 6. Re-install all of the software which you purchased after buying the PC 7. Do all patches and updates for all the software There will be other things to do also but this covers most of it. Other option is take it to a computer shop and have them do it. If you don't have the original CDs you can try contacting Dell for replacements (may be a charge for it) Another option is to go to linuxmint.com and download it and install, this will be the easiest option and you won't have to worry about XP no longer being supported. Good luck.

The monutor and keyboard not working and the code error is 2 4

Guest, The diagnostic error code 2,4 on the Optiplex GX 620 represents a Video subsystem configuration or failure. This means that the video card in the system has gone bad. If you have an on board video card that you are using then you will need to either get the motherboard replaced or add a discrete card into one of the available MB slots. If your system currently has a discrete card installed try reseatting it in the slot. If that does not resolve the issue replace the video card. Thank You, Dell-Jesse L Dell Social Media and Communities

Power light orange

This is a common problem with GX620's. You have most likely blow several capacitors on the motherboard and it will need to be replaced.

Problem with dell optiplex 620 keyboard and mouse

the first thing you need to check is if the same keyboard and mouse is working with another pc.if it doesnt then replace the keyboard and mouse.if they work fine on the other system then go to start and right click on the computer option and then click on manage, once you have done that click on device manager.now look for universal serial bus controller and expand the option by clicking the plus sysmbol beside it.once you have done that right click on each of the usb root hub and click on uninstall.once all of them have been uninstalled.close all the windows and restart the pc.now it should work fine.

Troubleshooting guide smart monitor 2

Hi Sarah, beeps are usually caused by RAM that has picked up static, or by a faulty display card. Do you see anything on the screen when switching on? Firstly, remove the RAM memory from their slots on the motherboard, then gently wipe the gold connector points of the ram with a soft cloth. If you have surgical alcohol you could also wipe the connection points with this to clean them off. Then reinsert the RAM DIMMS in their slots and try starting up your PC once more. This more often than not sorts out the problem you describe. Let me know if this solves your problem. Best wishes, Graeme.

Windows xp sp3 will not start just frezzes . canot get into safemode

Your first step should be to put the XP CD into your computer and try to perform tasks from the Recovery Console. I'd suggest a "chkdsk /r" and maybe even a "fixboot". If those don't allow you to get back into windows then try to do a "repair install" of Windows. This is just a temporary measure, to recover any files you don't want to loose. A repair install is a very unstable reinstall of windows, basically installing windows ontop of your current windows install. It can result in the computer crashing again, so should not be relied upon. Once you have all your data backed up I would suggest a complete reformat of the computer.

How do i Reinstall my sound?

If you have the CD, reinstall the drivers using the CD that came with the hardware. If you don't have the CD, then you're going to have to visit the hardware manufacturer's website. Follow the link that usually is labeled "SUPPORT". Find your exact equipment using the model number. They usually ask you to select the Operating System, such as Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7/8. Select your operating system and click on the link that appears. Once downloaded click on the file and this should jump start the install process. You probably need to reboot once that has completed and viola... your sound should work once again.

My cpu doesnt start when switched on , it shows

This sounds like you have bad capacitors on the motherboard, this is a very common model. They can be replaced and your system brought back to life. Here is a picture of what to look for. Open your computer and look at the motherboard capacitors, if they are bulging like the picture then you need to replace them. The tops should be flat if they are bulging or domed at all then they are bad. You can desolder them and replace them for about $12 in parts. If you find them do a google search for "Dell gx620 motherboard repair" for information about replacing them. buddymc.jpg
