I understand that Windows Media Player is not recoznizing the Droid phone.

This happens due to the file system. Windows use FAT32 as file system and DROID uses Linuz platform. That's the reason it is not recognized in Windows Media player. So at this point I advise you to download "Double Twist". "DoubleTwist" is a free app for Windows and Mac that more or less feels like iTunes. Once installed, it will ask you where your media library is located on your hard disk. It's pretty self-explanatory from there. Please access the link below to download "Double Twist"

You can install your GO GEAR 4GB MP3's program onto an external harddisc or on a flash drive by downloading it on a laptop or pc that has a disc drive, then you copy it onto your flash or disc drive.

After installing the go gear program on your external harddisc or flash drive, connect the harddisc or flash to your netbook and install the program on it.

After doing that, you can now carry out any form of transfer from your mp3 to your netbook.

Go to Settings/Sound Settings/Volume Limit and make sure it's set to the volume you want to be the max.

Try--- switch player on and at the same time, hold in the volume raise tab ( + ) this should reset the gogear.

 

To remove  the LCD screens ribbon cable, the thin black line to the right of the screwdriver tip is the cable clamp, this needs to be gently hinged upwards using a very fine flat blade screwdriver to about 40 degrees, full across the top of the connector working from the ribbon cable side, you will find the cable becomes very loose, and easily removed or reinserted. BUT please take care its delicate !!

Hi you need to make sure you have charged the player, does it light up when charger is plugged in??
PC will not recognize the player unless it is powered up.

Assuming that you mean Philips Gogear 1gb player, the lock key switch is at the side with the USB connection. In case you don't have it, here is the link for you to download the user manual.
I have to inform you that checking for your case, I found out that there is a problem with the firmware of the player. So Philips developed an update for that. You can see more details about this at this link.

This is on a Spark, right? If so, that's not a touch pad. The 4 sides buttons.

use the usb cord

Try bidding on a non functioning gogear with good screen on ebay.
Using your purchase strip down and remove required part, strip down your damaged one and fit replacement part.
