Why won't it recognise external hard drive?

Your external hard drive is probably formatted in Microsoft's NTFS format. Older TVs do not recognize this file system. Try to connect to the TV a Hard Drive formatted in the FAT32 file system. It is possible to convert NTFS drives to FAT32, using a computer. Note: Even if the TV will recognize the Hard Drive, it may or may not play the files (videos, movies, music) stored on the drive. Check the TV's manual for the supported files.

Why isn't Netflix app working?

Make sure that your TV is connected to your home network. It is best to connect it directly to your router with an Ethernet cable. If your VIERA is from the last few years, its should have built-in Wi-Fi, so you can also make wireless connection between the TV and your home network. Using the Panasonic TV remote, press MENU and select Network. Try the network test.

Have a panosonic viera flat screen that wont power up after lightning hit a tree in my yard. Any hope for recovery or is it DOA?

Fault to the main power supply regulator section. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

I cannot access 2 of the3 hdmi inputs with the remote

I have encountered this before also. If you look around in the various settings menus there should be a place to enable/disable the various inputs. I cannot give you the exact location of the setting as it varies by tv make and model but regardless should not be too hard to find with a bit of searching.

How to watch all tv full screen

Some programs were not produced in wide screen format. This is NOT a TV fault. You will never get a full screen picture in that case. You can play with the zoom button on your remote to see what it does. Most TV's have several choices. You may or may not like the results.
