I got the Avaya 5410
This is a digital phone handset to use with a Avaya DIgital PBX. You will not be able to use this as a "regular" phone at your home with a tranditional phone line.
We have group paging option for the office,
Are you paging the phones, or overhead speakers?
A few things might be...the 5420 phones might not be in the paging group, so look in your hunt groups.
The speakers might also be turned down, so press speaker, then press the up arrow for louder volume.
Caller Id blocking
There are no lines available. Have someone test dialtone on all your lines.
Changing user on voicemail
ill need to log into Manager and under that users tab, you can reset the password or delete the mailbox.

These units may indeed have been "Spiked" due to the lightning. This is a common event that I see often, these days in my shop. First you should try a "Reset' on each phone, if this doesn't remedy the issue, than that conclusively proves that they have been damaged due to some electrical power borne problems. When, this happens, usually the phones are a total loss, as the damage done, is often weird and unpredictable damage has been done, often to the power supplies inside the units and or the main control boards, I have found usually they are an uneconomic repairs. In saying that however i see no harm in one contacting the manufacturer and asking for a referral to an authorized service center, and then when referred, then ask them, for a "Quote" before proceeding with any repair.
