How to fix black screen
You might try holding Alt+F10 on boot. This might invoke the Factory Restore process. Beware... This will delete any files (pictures, documents, etc.), so don't do this if you have important files that are not backed up.

After I had installed Norton Anti-Virus, my Sony
Quite likely.. A lot of my clients have tons of trouble with this damned Norton... I simply hate it now... I get so many problems caused by it that I simply rip it off and use ANYTHING else... But in saying that... Umm.. well.... Symantec (Norton) Corporate Antivirus is simply marvelous... Go Figure... This is what I usually replace it with. But there are other AV's that work well.

Your computer stopped responding, restarted
Choose safe mode and see if you can get into it. If you can then go into system restore and choose the last date that you remember the computer working properly.
At this point the computer will restore the computer back to the earliest date that it was working properly.
Once you do this the computer will reboot and it should go back into windows normally and work just fine. If for some reason it doesn't then windows is corrupted and you'll need to wipe out the hard drive and restore the computer back to factory defaults.

I can't connect to my computer with my wireless keyboard
There is actually a CONNECT button on the bottom of the radio frequency
receiver (a circular or rectangular box connected to the pc with usb cable) .
First, you must have the keyboard within 11 inches of the
radio frequency receiver; the next step has two parts and must be done wihtin 10 seconds of each other. Press the CONNECT button on the radio frequency receiver first, now press the CONNECT button on the keyboard (should be on the top right - look underneath if its not on the front)
Communication should now be established.

Video card
Working and Working properly are 2 different things.
Unplug your pc. Let it set for 1 minute.
Plug in your pc.
Press the power button.
Does your monitor do anything?
No? Then it doesnt work
Yes? Then it works
If you get any video such as your BIOS or WIndows loading then the video card is fine.
Also, if you boot and you hear noises like:
Long Beep short Beep short Beep short Beep
(Long short short short)
Then your pc is not detecting the video card.

Try booting XP with the installation CD & use the recovery console to boot the laptop.
From the Setup CD-ROM
Insert the Setup compact disc (CD) and restart the computer. If prompted, select any options required to boot from the CD.
When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts; choose the repair or recover option by pressing R. If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access from the Recovery Console. When prompted, type the Administrator password. At the system prompt, type Recovery Console commands; type help for a list of commands, or help commandname for help on a specific command.
To exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer, type exit.
