Putting wires back on motherboard
Which type of wire's are they? If you are talking about mobo onboard speaker and front led cables. It should be written on motherboard itself. You need to take it to bright light and try to find out. If it is speaker cables it should be in spkr word. If iti s front LED then it should be colour coding on motherboard. Good luck with that.
I have the hp pavilion
The compatibility isn't with the memory, it's with the motherboard and its chipset. In your case the motherboard is a FIC AM-37 which has an VIA KM266A chipset - an extremely old chipset . The only processors accepted are AMD Athlon XP of the first generation of which you already have the fastest version
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMD_Athlon(tm)_XP_3200%2B#Athlon_XP_.22Palomino.22_.28Model_6.2C_180_nm.29
So no, it's not possible to upgrade it. You will have to buy another motherboard-processor combo.
Hello there:
Hello Mike, Hi, may I suggest you try first to defrag your hard drive, Im sure when you power on your PC, the hard disk led keeps on blinking, your hard drive may have developed bad tracks and sectors, this slow moving process tends to go forever.
Defragmenting and checkdisk can find faults and bad sectors and tracks that slows down the performance of your PC.
Reformatting should be done if your defragmentation procedure fails to speed up your PC.
Try to run an antivirus program, which may help speed up your PC by detecting viruses, that tends to load forever, or slow down the booting process.
PThe computer turn off after
ok if the computer works for about 10 minutes then shuts down then i would say its not the hard drive but the cpu fan. when your cpu heats up it shuts down when it reaches a certain temperature to protect itself. open your case and check that the cpu fan is working if not check it is plugged in correctly by unplugging it then plugging it back in, somtimes the connections can become oxidised and loose contact. if your cpu fan is working then let me know and we will try something else. let me know how you go.
How to get motherboard out of a hp pavilion 524w
On the outside, disconnect the power-cable, then the keyboard/mouse/video/audio/USB/printer cables.
Disconnect all the cables from the power-supply to the devices (disk, CD-ROM) and to the motherboard.
On the outside-back, remove the screws holding the power-supply in position, and then remove the power-supply.
Remove the screw holding each add-in card (audio, video, modem).
Remove each of the add-in card(s).
Remove the ribbon-cables from the motherboard to the diskette & disk-drive & CD-ROM.
Look for screws holding the motherboard to the case.
Remove those screws, and gently lift out the motherboard.
Removing virtual drive
It depends what program you used to add it in the first place. Open the software and look for settings, or just uninstall it.
