ASSUMING you have had this system same place, same usage... and have added NOTHING in your house (like wireless Cameras, DOT, ECHO, ALEXA, etc.). There comes a point in the owners of a DCT758-4 Uniden system's life... When it is time to check the base battery contacts... BATTERY charge indicator... and general system performance;... (battery indicator). Only the MAIN base is the RADIO BASE... Depending on battery condition... You might want to TRY moving your weaker hand sets around to more appropriate locations... Failing that... YOUR BATTERIES ... (I have shown below) are widely available from places like eBay and AMAZON... I am showing AMAZON for informational purposes. Try opening the phone battery compartment on the back of the phone, disconnecting the battery wire, then reconnecting the battery wire. Solved my "Out of Range" problem - phone came back on and worked properly.

Press menu, go to system reset, base unavailable, yes and place on main base to re-register.

There is delete key , left bottom side of LED frame. , Looks like (/) , when you play the message( |>) , then press delete key(/)

After you play your messages, press the button on the left side of the on/off button...the one above the charge light. It looks like a circle with a line through it???
My maching isn't working right now or I would be able tell you exactly what the voice sais, but it is something to the effect of "to delete messages, press delete again." Just press that button again and it should delete everything.

If you tried the registration process discribed in the book, it is possible that the base may have gotten zapped. Happened to me. Bought a new DCT 758 (cheap at Amazon.com) with only one extra handset and used two of the old handsets with it. It will only support the handset in the base and 3 others, so you can't use all of the old ones (save them for extras).

if they are less than a year old you should be able to bring them back under warranty and get them replaced. sounds like they might have got a power spike and it killed the base.

Unfortunately, handsets are not universal for Uniden cordless phone systems. The accessory handset for the EZX290 is compatible with the DECT1500, 2000, 2100, 300 and 2900 DECT 6.0 phone systems. The Uniden D-1680 system can have up to 12 handsets registered to the base. (The phone system was sold in bundles with 0 to 11 accessory handsets.) However, this cordless phone system has been discontinued. I can only find used DCX160 handsets (the compatible accessory handset) on Amazon and E-bay. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Yes, you can join an older and a newer version of Uniden Dect 6.0 cordless phones to work off the same base. Here are the steps to sync them:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the base of both phones.
2. Take the battery out of each handset.
3. Wait for a few minutes.
4. Reconnect the power cord to the base of the newer version phone and insert its battery.
5. Wait for the phone to register on the base, which should take a few seconds.
6. Once the newer phone has registered, repeat steps 4 and 5 with the older version phone.
7. The older version phone should now register on the same base.
8. Test the phones to make sure they are working properly.

If for some reason the phones do not register on the same base, refer to the instruction manual that came with the newer version phone for further troubleshooting steps.
