The answering machine out going message is a pre recorded message with a British lady's voice. We have our company message recorded as per manual, what are we doing wrong?

Marianne If a personal greeting has not been stored, the pre-recorded greeting is played. unfortunately the user manual does not say how to store a greeting but I am assuming you have to press 2 to accept the new recorded greeting and hopefully it will store the recording as it is not really explained in the user manual on the process on how to store a greeting. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tg4500_en_om.pdf page 60 Are you pressing two (2) to accept the greeting after you record it ?

Message light blinking messages

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

What does a boken dialling tone on my phone mean? It is all working fine and there are no warning messages on the display.

Usually broken dial tone means the line has call-forward set. You get broken tone for 3 or 4 seconds, then goes back to normal. Are you receiving incoming calls normally? It's common to set or cancel 'cause the code might kinda match a number you use. And it may be forwarded to nowhere, example, you dial 729-1111, but press 72#-1111. You might be forwarded to 1111, the code being 72#. The 1111 goes nowhere, someone calls you, calls gets forwarded, then they get a message"that number does not exist". If that's the code for your area, then 73# might be the cancel code. Check the front of the original phone book, or Google codes for your service provider.

2 LINES PICK UP ON PANASONIC KX-TG4500

Sounds like you have the cords into the back of the phone mixed up. If you have a cord with 1 and 2 plugged into 1/2, great. But then if you have another jack also with 1 and 2, but plug it into 3/4, now you answer line 3 on second phone and line 1 lights up on first phone. Or line rings line 1 here and line 3 over ther. Gotta keep that straight and the jacks have to have identical lines.

Disconnect Supervision

Hi folks, used 2 of the phones for several years now, great phone with a character. The fix with the handset power units is absolutely working and should be tested before one gives up.Also, I found out that cold temperature does influence or even trigger such outages of the base. We had two and both had a problem with temperatures of below 35-38 degrees. Sounds strange but we use it in a non heated office in the south, but when it really gets cold, the base can fail. Take a heater andkeep it warm. 15min later it works again! If that and the power supply exchange does not work look deeper for a solution!

Panasonic phone KX-TG4500 base not turning on

I could tell the base unit was about to go a few days ago. Have had the phone for years with intermittent problems but it has been for quite awhile now. However, the screen on the unit started to blink a bit a few days ago. Had a feeling it was about to go but the phone kept working until this morning when it suddenly dies. After reading that changeing the cord might work, I replace the unit power cord with one from my handset and the phone is working again! Thanks for the suggestion!

Selecting the greeting

Your problem is that the manual is wrong when it tells you to press "Answer On" and then go through the select greeting process. You actually need to press the button under the line number for which you want the greeting selected. For example, press the button under line 1, then select Mailbox, then select greetings. Panasonic needs to change their manual.

My panasonic KX-TG5000 phone headsets cannot make or recieve outgoing calls and the intercom function is gargly.

You need to reset the menu once again as it is possible that the phone had hung up as there was LINE PROBLEMS . Once this was reset the CLIP facility came back. So if you can once again remove power battery and keep aside to reset , then start all over to set up the base and slave units to MESH , the intercom and line facility must work. You can remove the battery from the slave remote units to reset.

Kx-tg4500 base unit. The backlight is lit but

Hi I have seen this may times and it has to do with the main controller in the unit, unfortunately this means that it must be repaired or replaced, i recommend the latter, as in reality to repair this unit is uneconomic in my experience, sorry about that but now at least you know. However if you do wish to attempt a repair, it obviously will not hurt, to contact a local or head office from Panasonic and ask for a referral to an authorised service center, now take the unit there and ONLY ask first for a "Quote" as to prospective costings and go from there.

Yes hi we just got

Hello there, on this unit you have to set the ringer for both the base unit and the handset separately. After setting up both ringers it is also very important that you setup a ring pettern for the unit to determine the exact ringtone which you want the unit to utilize. Also you have to determine the exact line which you have set each ringer pattern and volume for. If the particular line in use has not been setup then calls to that particular line would not ring out. These setting can be found on pages 79 - 81 of the user guide.Click here if you dont have it.
If after carrying out the setup the ringer still does not work you might want to return the unit as this indicates that the speakers are faulty and would either need replacement or proper connections.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

I have a Panasonic KX-TG4500

Hello.

If I'm understanding your troubleshooting of this problem, you tested the base and handsets and none work on line #3, but the same base and handsets work on the other lines.

If that is the case, often a busy signal is an indication of trouble on the line itself, rather than the equipment or wiring that is connected to it.

So, I would suggest to contact your telecom provider for that line and ask them to check and test the line signal.

Hope this helps.
