Cant get my black ink to work
The black ink cartridge has a copper strip on it. This strip has VERY tiny holes in it. So does the matching area on the All-In-One printer. The holes, or ports, are where the ink is transferred from the cartridge to the All-In-one.These ports, or holes, may get clogged up with dried ink.All-In-One UNPLUGGED FROM POWER, I use a damp warm water, clean lint free cloth, and wipe both areas with the ports. (Holes)Ink cartridge and area on the All-In-One.You may wish to use gloves. (Dishwashing gloves?)(I get the water as hot as I can stand it, and wring the cloth out so there is no dripping. Just DAMP. You also may wish to use another cloth underneath, to catch any drops from the cleaning damp cloth, just in case)Wipe across, and pick up as much as you can, ONCE.Then with a clean area do it again.Keep proceeding until the cloth is close to being clean, or stated as no ink residue on the cloth.I then use a can of compressed air for computers, and dry off the area on the All-In-One. Let the ink cartridge dry on it's own.WHEN you are satisfied the areas are dry, reinstall the black ink cartridge.Close the case, plug back into power.WAIT 1 minute, then turn the All-In-One on. Once it has reset itself, put paper in, and perform the Alignment check, and print a test.Still no? If you are using a replacement cartridge it may be no good.If it is still the original black cartridge is has dried up, or may be too low for the All-In-One to use.Regards, joecoolvette
