Dell Photo 964 All-In-One InkJet Printer - Page 8 Questions & Answers
Hello,
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. If you are
using a DSL or ISDN line, you are using a digital line filter on the telephone
line connecting your wall jack to the wall. If not then you’ll need to add a
DSL filter to the phone line between the wall jack and the fax machine to
resolve the issue. You may plug the filter in the VOIP box with one end of fax
line into one end of the filter and the other end into the fax machine’s fax
slot. If you have a filter with multiple slots then plug it in the telephone
line slot. After doing this test that
the Fax is receiving faxes normally. If still the issue persists, then also please
check these things to resolve the issue---
Make sure you turned on both your
printer and your computer, and the USB cable is properly connected. An active
telephone line is connected to the left side fax connector on the back of your
printer. The fax number, country code, and date/time are set correctly. If you
are using a DSL or ISDN line, you are using a digital line filter on the
telephone line connecting your wall jack to the wall. The telephone line is not
in use by another device such as a dial-up modem internet service. If it is,
wait until the other device is finished before sending your fax. The power
supply, telephone, handset, and answering machine connections are secure. The
speed dial is set correctly.
Please do accept the solution if
the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks
Rylee

Error 1102 appearing
That's usually the sign of two things.
1. Did you reset the ink
levels in the maintenance or settings and send them to the printer. If
you didn't the printer may now think that the ink has completely run
out.
2. It's possible the cartridge has become unseated and the
contact circuit strips between the printer head and the cartridge are
not making full contact.

Was on with HP tech for 1 hr loading the drivers
I've seen this happen with bad cables. I'd try a brand new, known good USB v2.0 rated cable. Also, don't use one that is longer than you need - I'd stick with a 6 foot cable at the longest for now, at least for testing.
Need driver, lost cd and
Got to disagree with you there. The Dell website has the drivers here
http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=PRN_PHT_964&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
Use the drop down menu to select the OS and download.
I lost the install CD for my Dell all in one 964,

It always says paper jam and it has no paper jam
- Turn off the printer.
- Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
- Also open the back cover of the printer if this model has one.
- Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
- If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it away from light/ sun light to avoid damaging it.
- If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by
holding it with both hands and pulling firmly. The goal is to keep the
paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling
out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
- If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper. Don't force anything, though. Do
this step especially if the jam message comes up repeatedly without any
obvious paper jam, there may be a small tear of paper inside.
- Ones the printer is free of paper Replace the toner or
ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the
printer back on.
- If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
- see alternative if the problem is still not solved.
alternative :
Load
a piece of thick paper, for example photo paper and press the resume
button (may be diffrent button on diffrent models) a few times to the
printer picks up the paper and puts it through the machine.
if the problem remains, some of the sensor / switches might have become stuck or are out of place, or there is still a small piece of paper or something else inside the machine and its coming up as a paper jam.
The machine would need to be taken apart and cleaned to solve the issue.
I am unable to
Is it connected via a parallel port? If so, then you need to change the parallel port type in your computer's BIOS Setup to EPP or ECP type; Windows will register the new port type and you should be able to establish a bi-di connection.
BTW, does it not work without this bi-directional connection? The only thing you lose is some fancy stuff like ink levels monitoring etc.
I was printing on my printer with no problem when
It's mean your catridges overflow even from brand new catridges after a several prints or right after you refilled the catridges. Check to see if ink are smeared on the holder where the contact panel with the catridge.
Solution:
I use the klennex with a few drops of water to dampen and clean off those contact on the holder and my printer work again.
The refill ink works very well if you let it sit 24 hrs. Then before you print anything, you should run aligned the catridges a couple times then run clean catridges a couple times.
Print the test page to see how it's look and way you go.
Be sure not to leave any debris of klennex on those holder contact panel.
Too bad that I also cound not find out how to reset the ink indicator. It's annoying to hit the OK button every time you want to print.
Try and see if it works for you. Good luck......
Just replaced both ink cartridges and test pages
hi there !
-if you have replaced the ink cartridges and you have the color bars in middle of page and columns are not aligned, try to do the alignment of the ink cartridge
-if the alignment procedure fails; try the old cartridge
-if the old cartridge exhibit the same problem, you need to replace the printer
I can't figure out how to get scanned photo to
Plug in your Digital camera in the USB port. Click on start. Go to 'Documents' in the left-side pull-up menu. You will see 'pictures'. Click on pictures and see if your picture-file is there. Usually load themselves automatically.
