I have put new batteries in my diverse 4016 phone
It looks that the handset is not charging from the base unit: if you have a multimeter you can check that you have a voltage slightly higher than your battery pack voltage on the base unit. Make sure the contacts are clean and If you have no reading, then the charger on the base unit is very likely defective.
If you do not have a multimeter, check and clean the (two) contacts on your handset and base unit to ensure proper electrical contact and that you see the charging indicator displayed on both the base and the handset.
If that does not work, to assess if the issue is with the handset, swap the phones from the base and the stand-alone charging station and repeat the test: if it works, swap the batteries between the handset to see if it makes any difference. If it works, then the issue might be with the original base unit handset as you have now 'tested' the new battery on the alternative handset. To summarize, it is a test by trial and error swapping.

To change to "English," press and hold the skip button on the base unit for 2 seconds.
NOTE: In remote access mode, the system follows the selected language. The voice prompt language cannot be switched remotely.

You can try:
1. Put the second headset in the main phone charging base (IE
the base where the phone line is plugged in) for a while (at least 30
seconds) then you can go on to use it and
charge it in its regular charging base.
2. If still doesn't work, remove the batteries from both phones. Then repeat step 1.

If the base station is plugged into the phone line you should be able to designate one phone as the master. That phone should be on the base station when charging. If you look in the manual it should show you how to redo the master. It's usually just pushing a button when on the station. Just takes a second. That will also enable the phone to work with the base station. It locks out any phones that haven't been physically connected to the bases. To do the second phone you may have to do a slightly differant process to register it with the bases.
How do i register anadditional phone
Should be a feature available through your menu feature on the new handset.
