My Honeywell T8001C doesn't allow me to change the indefinite temperature hold for some reason

It sounds like the thermostat is malfunctioning; the Set should not be flashing at all, only the Hld should show after pushing the hold button. Do you have a new battery in the unit? Is it set to Heat or Cool? Is it already programmed for current Time/Date and does it have a schedule programmed in already? If you've lost the user manual it's here: https://customer.honeywell.com/resources/Techlit/TechLitDocuments/69-0000s/69-1431.pdf

A/C won't kick on w/

Hi,
Okay it seems that for some reason the battery change scrambled the brain of the t-stat... that happens...
To fix it you will now have to go into the "Installer Menu" and reset the paramenters of the t-stat.
If you have the Installe brochure then you can look in there and then set the tistat for "heat/cool" and also to "auto fan" and then to "auto changeover" These should get you back to cooling again...
No big problem, just a small programming issue...be patient and if you do not have you book don't worry... you can look it up here...this tip tells you where and how to find any of the Honeywell t-stat manuals.
