Firmware failure with inbuilt ROM

unfortunatly the only fix is to replace the firmware chip itself which requires a new main PCA/formatter, I would suggest with the age of this unit that would be most difficult to get hold of and would probably cost more to repair than it would be to procure a 2nd hand more recent unit

Film + error lights flash. I have replaced the ink

This indicates that either the black print cartridge is faulty, misplaced or missing. Try inserting a different black cartridge. Also firmly press the large green plunger fully down once, and then release it. The plunger should return to its original position. Then reset the printer and try printing again. If the problem persists try using a new black cartridge and primeit before use with the power on.

When turned on goes through routine with lights but no mechanical

Sounds like a partial power supply failure; the output for the motor drive(s) has failed. This may be a separate assembly but some covers may need to be removed to determine this.

Can't find a 32 MB Memory module in South Africa. Where & how can I order one ??

The same Ram can be found in old desktop computers, 486 is about the right time for a 16mb or 32mb RAM chip.

How do I bypass the expired cartridge on a HP DesignJet T610?

The dates are on the package for a reason. The ink dries out or changes viscosity over time and will likely clog the printhead. My advice is not to stock up on cartridges because of this problem. If you look online, you can find replacement chips or instructions on how to reset the chip on the cartridge.

Error 79:04 HP 650T

79 errors are usually bad firmware that needs replaced or updated. Sometimes it is simply a bad print job being sent. Check to see if only one print job is causing this error, or if it happens with everything you try to print.

I need to replace the fuse in an HP Designjet 350C. How?

there are a few fuses that are component based I.E. soldered to the circuit rather than a glass shaped fuse, I would recommend that if you have tried a second mains lead that you put a call into a hp representative or HP trained technician to see if its safe to just replace the fuse or if anything more has happened to cause the fuse to trip. wildly replacing fuses may cause more harm than good. the right choice is to have a trained tech called out.
