Kyocera FS-C5100DN shows Error message "close front cover"
what to do??
it is in the left front of the machine the cover you open to change toner should have a actuator that pushes the switch that could be broken off or 1 of your toner cartidges may not be set correctly remove all of them and close the cover if it says install toners do that 1 at a time see if it keeps saying install cartriges until all are installed or you see close cover message after 1 is installed that would be the 1 not installed correctly causing your close cover message

Wont operate because display says 'close top cover' even though it is closed.
If you remove the toners you'll see a little lever usually has a yellow sticker attached that can be pushed forward or back make sure it's pushed towards the front of the machine then reload the toners and close
if it still won't close you may have broken the actuator off the lid that pushes the switch when the closes

Why is the kyocera fs-c5100dn print smudging
If the final product is smudging after it prints out the fuser unit is not working and the toner is not fused to the paper. Also the paper should be warm when it prints out.
If it is during the printing you may have loose toner in the printer that is contaminating the print process.
