Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z600 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Hello! I have my ExS600 but I realized that my
I looked up the PDF for your camera, and it says: "use only an SD memory card or a Multimedia card with this camera. Proper operation is not guaranteed when any other type of card is used." I did not see a maximum size listed, but some cameras only accept 4GB, some 8GB. I think the important thing is "use only SD card".
Date time setting does not program
There is not an option to remember the date/time when you power off the camera. The camera should always remember the time.
If it forgets the setting when you power it off then your backup battery has gone dead. Check your manual to see if it is something you can replace yourself. I am not familiar with this camera specifically but some cameras make the backup battery accessible and some require disassembly.

How do i put date onto photos? so they show when
The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
Card error with memory card
Make sure you're using an SD card, 2GB or smaller. This camera will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.
The memory card is locked in the camera
SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

You don't need any special software in order to use your camera. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or
Picasa.
