My Casio battery door is broken how do I replace it

If you have enough skills and tools to open a camera, and build it together again, first order a new battery door and all spare parts, needed to put the camera together. While opening a camera, it could be you have to remove glued parts. If you can't buy a new door from Casio (I think they don't sell it to you if you are not a Casio certified repair centre), please don't even try to open the camera. On ifixit they show hoe to open electronic gear, but they never show how to put it together. You can look (at your own risk) how they open camera's.Perhaps even yours is on the site too: Repair Manuals for Every Thing iFixit

Battery won't hold a full charge

batteries don't have a life forever. And no one can predict the life time of a battery. So many factors influence the lifetime. But if it is draining very fast, this mostly means it has reached the end of life. If the camera does not get excessive hot, it has nothing to do with the camera. It is just you need a new battery. To keep a battery in shape for a longer time you should charge it also when the camera is not used. Like at least 4 times a year. Always charge the battery a day before you plan to use it. Don't over charge, like charging it every day. Don't leave it in the bright sun or on a hot place. A new battery, should be charged and discharged a few times, before it gets a full charge. The "New" battery you bought, could be in stock for a long time. Special when you could buy it very cheap. Perhaps in a few days you say, he the battery works fine now. But if you did charge it 3 or more times and it still does not hold a charge. send the battery back (I hope you bought one with warranty)

Can I charge a Casio

No. The EX-Z60 does not charge the battery through the USB port. You need to use the supplied charger. Alternatively, if you have the EX-Z60DX cradle, you can plug the camera into the cradle and plug the cradle into a wall outlet. However, using the cradle will not let you charge the camera through the USB port either.

I have a Casio Exilim.

Depending on the image resolution and quality the camera may hold anywhere from 2 to 69 pictures. Obviously smaller pictures take less space and thus you can fit more of them in. However, why buy a 6megapixel camera only to take pictures 2megapixels or smaller? The table on page 249 of the manual gives estimates for the various resolution and quality settings.

You're MUCH better off using a memory card. Even a 2GB memory card should let you take about 500 pictures, and the card can be reused after you download the pictures to your computer.

The EX-Z60 works with SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Hi, I dropped my camera

Hi Molly,
I would recommend you first try to reset the settings in your menu. If that still doesn't work then you probably need to have your camera serviced by an authorized service center. If you're in the East Coast or near New york City give us a call and we can help you with that.

When I attempt to zoom

Hello

Thank you for using FIXYA!!!

This is a suggestion. If you do not feel comfortable trying it, you will need to take the unit to your nearest service centre. Feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

The problem might be that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

My casio exilim battery shows

Rechargeable batteries, unfortunately, do not last forever. The older the battery and the more it's been used and recharged, the shorter the life. You will get to a point where the battery will only last 30 minutes or so, and will take only 20 minutes to charge (if you have a charge indicator for you battery).

My suggestion is to look online for a replacement battery. There are many places that sell generic batteries that work very well, so you don't need to spend the extra money to buy a real Casio battery. Just do a search for your battery model number.

Good luck.
