What size capacitor does the quasar 8000 btu window unit uses
I would only guess, but I'd say 20ufd 370v. Take the cover off and look at the old one. Its marked on either the side or on the bottom.
if you check it be sure you unplug unit, then take an insulated screw driver and put it across both terminals at the same time. It WILL snap and arc. It discharges the energy and makes it safer to handle.

Randy. it looks as though the drain is plugged and or the filters are really dirty. You should be able to find the drain easily it will have apipe comingout of the blower unit . see if you can access it by removing a panel if not follow it outside or to where it drains a blow a bit of air up against it or you can carefully push water up it but be careful with water as you don't want to flood the house... it shuld unplug.. If you can access it behind the panel calen it well and mix a bit of clorox with hot wther a dump it in there that will kill anu scum and help keep it clean .. good luck and let me know .

If the indoor unit is not owrking but the outside unit is running then usually the problem is the blower motor...
First thing that I would check is to see if you have power to the indoor blower motor...if you have power there then the motor is bad...if you have no power then follow the power back and see why...
Also comment back to me and I can help troubleshoot that...
