If your trying to make calls on your pc and it says failed due to sound problem, try using a set of headphones and a microphone instead. That should solve your issue.

First click on the arrow next to the clock area on the bottom right side of your screen and find the volume control. Click on volume control to open it up. Slide the volume control up. Hi,
Please let us know more details like the operating system of the computer (Windows XP, others..) and the complete model number.
Also, kindly check whether the PC audio is not muted. To do this, click the
Volume icon on the Windows Taskbar and see that the box next to
Mute is unchecked. (
See attached images)
Also, you can connect a headphone to check whether the sound output from the PC is OK.
Kindly reply with the details. Thanks for using

Using my Acer CPU, I successfully plug in the
the green plug is for sound OUTPUT (to speakers with an amplifier), the blue is for sound pre amp INPUT (like a MP3 player or a any other device like an old 4 track casset WALKMAN player) the pink one is for a MICROPHONE INPUT, the black is for a surround system OUTPUT, and the yellow is for a digital OUTPUT all for a surround 5.1 system, so you have to look closer you will notice some difference in the icons stamp in the back, green has a sound wave symbol with an arrow going outwards the pink one has a sound wave symbol with a MIC symbol, the blue has a sound wave symbol with an arrow going inwards, the black and the yellow has a sound wave symbol with a digital symbol
conclusion... you can use the green OUTPUT to feed to one amplifier, if you want to feed music to multiple amplifiers you need a SOUND MIXER with at least two outputs, you can buy a chap sound mixer for about 20$, go to your local electronic store and EXPLAIN EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT TO DO and they will sell you exactly what you need...
Hope this helps!
Good luck!

The volume on my acer
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem
have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps

Please open the Device Manager by typing devmgmt.msc in the Search Box or the Run box. You will get Run Box by pressing Windows+R Key at the same time. Check if the Sound Audio and Video Controllers is listed in Device Manager Window and let me know.

When i am on my
In order for the other person to hear you, there must be a microphone installed on your computer. You mentioned that you have speakers, but you didn't say anything about whether your pc has a mic installed or not?
You can check to see if a mic is installed by going to your control panel and click on sounds, then look for the input device under voice. There is an option to test the device there too. If there are no devices installed there will probably be a red "X" or nothing in the device selection area.
Hope this helps?
