Bad power supply due to bad caps, high voltage arching due bad connections on the lamps assembly or bad inverter transformers. You need to open it up and see.

If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on: Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). Update your video car drivers and then look for the specific drivers of your monitor, it happened to me once using windows 7 i just installed the monitor's driver from the manufacturers website. go to acer website and support download page and search for your model, donwload and install and hope that solves your problem.

sir the problem is with the VGA cable of ur LCD..... plz see that u buy a new one..:)

turn it off.
turn it back on.
is the picture of your desktop in the background?
check for a stuck button on the monitor.
if not check signal cable form the computer to the monitor to see if it is loose.

I doubt it very much that it is bad switch. Can you feel it click?

Your PC video resolution is too high for the monitor to work.

You should set it to the monitor native resolution for best picture.

What you got here is a power supply issue. The power supply might be having some issues with its filler capacitors inside the power supply itself.

Many people such as myself have replaced these types of things to make it work.

You would need to know basic soldering and electronics repair skills to do this type of duty.

If that is not the type of work your into I recommend having the monitor repaired by a expert in your city.

Hi this seems to be a common problem with this type of monitor i found the best solution apart from throwing it out the window as it drives you crazy is turn it off from the main switch and back on i have tried so many things on the computer and still no good but try the power thing and see how you go it has worked on a few i have dealt with and also just try the switch on the monitor if that dont work try connecting the monitor to your laptop as an external monitor or another computer and see if it does the same on that computer then you know it is for sure your monitor and one more thing is to try another type of connection as you should have a couple or few ways of connecting hope it helps

Very sorry but it sound like the controller chip for this monitor has packed it in. Always do due diligence first though before dropping off at recycling. Make sure power cord is subbed out, and if possible the video cable just to make sure there is no connection issue. Short of that, the only other thing is that someone wiped something off on that portion of the screen - screen cleaner to make sure it is not that.

Press CTRL + ALT + DEL to kill this process, uninstall unwanted programs from your computer and clean Windows registry using some reliable software such as Reginout. Thanks

Sadly I do not think this is fixable.
Try it on another laptop / computer to see if the problem disappears, if it does the fault is with the graphics card on the PC ( confirm by trying another monitor on the original PC)

check the vga etc cable is tightly secured, has no damaged pins and the connection socket is also undamaged.

After that, I'd guess the internal board on the monitor is failing, usually, repair costs exceed the cost of a new / 2nd hand one
