Maytag performa pav3200 washing mach. very load shrill noise during spin
if you just bought it it probably is the shiping pin. it is a large boldt in the back of the front load machines, smaller pin in the side or rear on toploaders. it keeps the drum from spinning in transit. people forget to pull them all the time. especially if you installed it yourself. If that isnt the problem, try leveling it. Newer machines spin much faster than older ones and one tiny bit off level will make it rattle and shake.
Maytag dryer waont start when you push start button
Try opening and closing the door a few times it might be the door interlock switch, Are your plugs fused like in the UK. If so check fuse, or there will be a safety fuse inside the dryer which has blown in which case it will have to be examined by a qualified repairer.

My washer(PAV3200-2) was working fine,
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I would suspect that the small noise is from the drain motor which might be jammed by something!
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
(If these actions have not cured the problem, it could be the control board OR the main motor. Motors will show weaknesses when commanded to spin.)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Have a proforma toploader and
We have a proforma toploader washing machine and when using the machine in makes a very loud grinding noise during the spin and wash cycle. On occassion it also does not spin the clothing out properly, however the machine is still usable.
Noisy when in agitation or spin mode
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
You do not say what sort of noise- motor or banging? I always recommend checking the balance before anything else anyway ;-0)
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly!
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine (sorry about my UK spelling!) and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.
If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal drum suspension is malfunctioning.
Good luck,
John C
Making a grinding noise in both wash and spin
Your transmission is the most likely issue. The internal gears are starting to grind. This is typical of this particular model. (manufactured by Admiral) There is a possibility that the pump pulley has come loose and is grinding on the unit's frame or pump housing itself. If this is the case, it can be fixed at a reasonable price. If it is the transmission, start shopping for a new machine. The transmission replacement is not cost effective.
Grinding noise when spinnind out
Hi.
Access the drain pump and undo the hose connected to drain pump. In there you find an object trap. If there are coins or other small objects, that can be the reason for the noise.
Have also a look at the drum bearing, that is the most common cause for noise on the spin part of the cycle.
Regards.
Ginko.
My maytag washer stopped working
If you turn the transmission pulley one way it will agitate the other it will get hard raise up to release the brake and then turn the transmission and the inner drum. If you cannot turn the drum then I would check to see if a nail has gone through one of the holes in the bottom of the drum or a piece of clothing has jammed between the top of the drum and the top cap of the outer tub.
MAYTAG PERFORMA MODEL# PAV2300AWW, REVISION#12,
hello you need to change drum rollers but if u remarked water dawn the washer and burn smell it could be the motor OR THE BELT because when the drum stop turning or turn slowly the motor turn fast on the belt when spin time it make this smell .
The dryer is not rotating but it is getting power
There are several reasons you could be having this issue. Most likely it's due to a broken belt from the motor to the tumbler cam (not expensive to repair) or it could also be that the motor has fried (very expensive if not under warranty) and lastly, a bad breaker (could be at fault. You can go to www.RepairClinic.com. They provide
you with free diagnostics, and fairly priced parts, plus friendly helpful instructions for DIY repair. . . and yes, the DIY instructions are also free.
Hope this helps FixYa! Please rate up this solution if you found it helpful or share the love by sending a quick testimonial.
Agitator oscillates, does not rotate, as if part
There are a set of "agitating dogs" under the agitator. These are like small fingers with grooves that grab the agitator and agitate the clothes. These can be replaced for about $5. They are usually made of plastic and wear over time or from overloading. Search the internet for agitating dogs and how to replace.
