During spin cycle, tub goes out of balance, can

There are two things that come to mind. One is that the clothes in the washing machine are not balanced...meaning there are more clothes on one side of the washing machine than the other. The second thing is that the little feet under the washing machine are not level, therefore making your washing machine not level and balanced, causing it to shake and jump when it's in the spin cycle.

Washer is non operational in

Either the door switch is bad (which can be tested with a multi-tester on the RX1 ohm setting)
Or the selector switch is faulty which can also be tested, or lastly the control board is faulty.

Having issues with spin cycle

have you tried to replace the suspension parts such as the springs that hold the tub in place actually if I remember correctly some maytags do also have a balance ring that is located under the tub stand. the balance ring does deteriorate over time. First thing to do would be to remove the front panel and inspect while your machine is running how the machine is when its spinning if you are seeing grey peices of metal in the clothes which I have seen often in maytags remove the center agitator and look at the center shaft to where it connects to the tub under this spindle I have found very frequently that the maytag tubs do tend to fall apart when this happens the machine does become quit noisy as well hope this helps please write back If you have any more questions thanks again

well if its tripping the trip every time you turn it on there is a leak down to earth in the washer some were it only takes 30 - 50 mill amps to throw the trip out,, thats only just under the power that could kill you?
but dont go putting to the test?? i would have a realy close look at all the motors first if one has a leak to earth you found the fault,,,
you know,,all them new bits you just put in ...it would have been cheaper to just buy a new washer by now? and you still have an old case to change yet!!!!
i think its a war now? and you intend to win it at any cost?

Top loader performa having terrible troubles with

Hi
Excessive lint is usually due to reasons other than the dryer design or mechanical malfunction. The washer, not the dryer needs to be checked for the following before contact service because the washer is where lint is created.

Improper Sorting - Washing lint-givers (terry cloth, towels) with lint-catchers (corduroy, velveteen most manufactured fibers) will result in excessive lint. Wash lint givers and catchers separately.

Incorrect Amount of Detergent - The correct amount of detergent used while washing provides the most benefit in eliminating lint from clothes. The amount of detergent used is determined by the size of the load, the degree of soil and the hardness of the water. To determine water hardness, contact your local water utility or county extension office. More detergent is needed if water hardness is 10 grains or higher.

Overloading can also result in excessive lint. Refer to both the dryer and washer use and care manual for instructions on loading.

MAYTAG WASHING MACHINE

The rubber smell is the belt from the motor to the tub. The grinding sound is/was the tension pulley that keeps the belt tight. The bearing on the pulley probably went out and now the belt is burning because of the friction of sliding around the pulley. The belt and the pulley need to be replaced. If you have the room, turn off and disconnect the hoses. Unplug the electrical cord from the wall outlet. Remove the drain hose and any water in the tub. Carefully tip the washer over backwards, DO DROP IT!!! Now you should be able to see the motor, tub, tension pulley, and belt. With a basic 3/8' drive socket set, probably metric, and a couple of screw drivers you should be able to remove the belt and the pulley. Take the belt, pulley, and model numbers to an applicance parts store and buy replacements.

I only suggest this because I hate paying labor. If you are not machanically inclined then you are going to have to pay the labor.

Good Luck

I have a maytag performa dryer wont heat up sometimes

Hello there:
If there is no heat or heat sometimes please try these solutions
Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.) Wiring A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

My Maytag Performa washing machine bangs and walks

A washing machine may wiggle, rattle or move across the floor. It is often accompanied by excessive, or loud noise. There can be several causes and the problem is worse with some units more than others. The most common cause is an unbalanced wash load. Open the lid/door, and attempt to redistribute the clothing to balance the weight. Heavy loads, especially things like comforters, are more likely to become unbalanced than small loads. If you do a lot of heavy loads, you should consider a heavy duty/large capacity washer when it comes time to replace your current unit. A washer must be level both from side to side as well as from front to back. Washing machines have adjustable feet to enable you to level them. See your manual on how to level your washing machine. The outer tub/basket, is supported by springs, pistons or counterweights to keep it balanced. The weight of all that water in a wash load requires a powerful balancing mechanism. If the balancing system becomes detached from one or more points, it will not be able to balance the load properly. Furthermore, even if everything appears to be in place, as the appliance ages, the springs or pistons/shock absorbers, may begin to wear out and not support as much weigh as needed.

Unplug the washer and open the cabinet. Because of the variety of balancing mechanisms, you will have to inspect your machine to determine how it is balanced. Once you discover the mechanism, then inspect it for integrity. In the case of old parts that appear to be in working order, you may not be able to tell if they need to be replaced. They may be weak but appear to be in good condition. If no other solution resolves the problem, then replacing the balancing springs or other moving support parts may be the best action.Another common cause for excessive movement, or clunking, is the floor on which the washer rests. The washer is heavy and even more so when filled with water. Any floor, other than a concrete slab, will tend to pick up and amplify the vibrations from the machine. There are a couple things you can try. If you have access to the joists under the floor, you may be able to beef up the support. Another thing to try is placing a large sheet of plywood under the washer. It should be 3/4" or even 1" thick and as large as possible to distribute the weight. Use a sheet big enough for both the washer and dryer to sit on. If possible fasten the plywood to the existing floor.

No power to maytag performa washing machine

You first hv to check whether your power outlet on the wall has power, with another appliance; check whether the power plug of machine is good, connections, fuse, etc. All good, then try below:

Plug off the wall socket. Open up the machine. Remove, reseat and reconnect every connector at least 3 times. Remove the motor control board, spray it down with electronic cleaner along with all connections by disconnecting them, spraying them down. Disconnect and connect a few times to ensure good contact.. This normally works.

My maytag washer does not go into the second rinse

I would not be surprised if there wasn´t a little braindamage here.
Does the machine seem to be doing the same things over and over again? Or find the job difficult?
I would consult an craftsman who recognizes the symtoms if the main unit(what I call the brain in my llanguage) is not working properly.
