Try a different source on the tv to see if the tv is toast. Ten years is quite old and tvs have come on a long way since this one. Alternatively try a different tv on the cable box.

Tv going on to standby but not going on
usually after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to tube ) becomes weak - then TV won't get ON.. means no picture no sound ..but LED blinks - in some TVs along with EHT 1 or 2 components like resistor, transistors, etc will also gets deffective ............... so solution is TV circuit board has to be checked to find whether only EHT is deffective or other components are also deffective - price of EHT will be between Rs.250 (US$ 5) to Rs.600 ( US$ 12) ........iam from bangalore (09986222774, [email protected] ) .....i don't have any idea about EHT component's price & service charge in your area........this problem cannot be solved by user unless user is a technical person having idea about components (resistors, transistors,diodes,...etc..), having multimeter , soldering iron & other tools...so my suggestion call TV service engineer or contact panasonic service centre.........

Good day sir/maam, chances are you tv's switching power supply circuit has gone bad, you may try the following.
- open the back cover and locate the fuse, check if the thin wire is intact, (unplug the unit before opening the back cover) replace and test if the fuse blew up. test again.
- if the fuse is intact. replace the cover.
At this point. you have no choice but to call your dealer or repair man for service.

Can you turn on a tedelex ec2975 tv without a remote control?
did you put new batteries in the remote? is the transmitter lens on the remote clean?(on the front edge). is the pick-up window on the t-v clean? (probably a small plastic rectangle to the right or left of the bottom controls). check it out!
good luck!

My set wont turn on either manually or with the
Common Fault:
In this case it's likely just a fuse - main fuse in power supply (6.3A 250V)
Read below and decide if you want to tackle the problem yourself if so I’ll help along the way with what info I have. If not contact the nearest repair shop armed with the info below.
A dead set (no picture no sound) can indicate any number of problems – Usually the set is in shutdown or protection mode – this means that the internal circuits have detected a problem with a supply voltage missing, drawing too much current, going over voltage or a short condition.
The first thing to do is power off the set unplug it for 5min. than replug and try again. This in effect resets the main micro and will sometime unlatch a fault and resume working. There are certain common problems based on the make model – for instance convergence output IC’s(CRT projection TV’s) can cause a dead set symptom in many models. Vertical output IC failure can also cause the same symptom (CRT standard and Projection).
The only way to determine the real cause is :
By an educated guess based on experience or by directly troubleshooting the set – checking fuses, measuring voltages and checking for shorts. Many of the intermittent problems such as, int.(Intermittent) no sound or picture, int. picture shrunken or misshaped. These problems are generally due to cold (bad) solder joints (all TV’s and electronics) that break down under slight temperature changes or vibration and are usually verified by physically tapping the suspected area on the circuit board, or by quickly heating or cooling a suspected component or area ( cold spray and hot air gun). The other main culprit is leaky or dried out capacitors or capacitors that change value depending on temperature. These can sometimes be seen as bulged or leaky and have an acrid odour

T.V. Has nopower
Try a power drain:
1. Unplug the product's power cable so the device is not grounded to the house.
2. Press and HOLD the product's own power button for 1 minute to drain the capacitors.
3. Plug the product back into a wall outlet and try to turn it on.
Note: This procedure works with battery operated devices as well so remove the batteries and
hold down it's power button. Electricity can remain in capacitors and on circuit boards
enough to prevent normal functionality. By clearing the residue electricity, your product
will have a fresh start and many times this will resolve a buggy or non-responsive device
that appears to be dead.
If the TV still won't come on, and there is no indication of electricity getting through, the problem will be with the TV's power supply or it's cable.

Need to ask how to Repair my TV.
Check F801 for open and if open replace with 6.3a 250v slo-blo...
If open and replacement slo-blo opens immediately suspect audio Ic2301 Part Number # An5277. Ic shorts and drags down 30v line stressing main fuse.
Always replace C832 using a 35v 220mf. (original is16v/220mf).
Also, another possibility could be the deguass thermistor D808 P/n# D4ddf1r50001 but try the above first.

Sony trinitron flickering
its the problem of overheating on the main board that causes this problem of fuse blowing.the capacitors and ic on the main board needs to be checked with a meter to locate the faulty.

My Panasonic CT-36SX31 picture has an hour shape
Take a look around (say, within 12 feet of) the TV... anything that can generate an electrical field? Microwave... refridgerator... old school stereo speakers...
Pin cushioned is a term applied to a picture that's doing what you described. Adjustments to correct that are typically found in computer monitors.
I have an identical television to yours and that adjustment isn't available. You could try degausing, but I doubt that works.

Screen is messed up, getting worse
What your describing sounds like two differant problems OR the power supply is causing these two problems .. One would of course be the tuner and the other would be the vertical circuit .. Your going to need to seek out a profesional if you havent a clue about solid state electronicsand A tv is not a place to experiment! Good Luck
