There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.

You can look at the sample of the power supply board, the picture with the soldering side has labeling of what you should have on the output of the power supply, yours may be labeled on the top side of the board, there are high voltage on the board so you must be real careful, if you are not sure, let the professional handle it if you do not have the basic electronics knowledge

Since you do have sound, that means you do have the 5v and the 12v but may or may not have the 24vdc for the backlight inverter.

Use good quality cotton cloth that has little moisture to clean tv screen.
Do not use detergent, any kind of spray or glass cleaning liquids etc.
Only use cotton cloth dumped with moisture of clean water.

Do you have a little symbol on the screen showing a speaker crossed out? If so you have pressed the 'mute' button. another press of the same button should un-mute it.

Take it to a TV repairer. You could be going around in circles and getting nowhere.

Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board. Some of our Viera's may have different part numbers. Consult the service bulletins

maybe theres a defect in your tv so it cannot osolate just try to consult it in you nearest dealer good day

go into your menu, then set up there you will see cc turn it off, hope this helps

You have bad cables or connection.

Change your component or HD cables.

Does your TV have an Audio out? If it does then you can connect it from there.

You most likely have a backlight issue with this TV set. Could be the inverter circuits for the backlights. The inverter is the power supply source for the backlights. there could also be a screen driver problem. This would entail changing the entire board. You should call in an authorized LG repair center to check this set out for you. Good Luck and please let me know what you found out about this TV set.

well this is common on your model and could be a few different things. one is the video circuit and a cost would range around 100.00. the other is a weak picture tube this would cost more than the TV . sometimes when it is the tube we can adjust it but it does not always last long. sounds to me it would be better to invest into a newer TV in this case.

Ur tv power supply board it dead.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.If u know basic electronic's and soldering?Searches all around the power supply board and it supporting boards look for these parts call capacitors,it dead it,they bulges up on it top or puff up on it top.These capacitors are dead,replace them,your tv power will be stable again and work.

If you are using a cable box, you must use the CC functions of the box... the TV will not receive the CC information.

For the set you can activate the CC in the setup menu. But some cable, sattelite ect. receivers have to have teh close caption turned off or on in the setup menu there or you do not get the cc signal to the set.
